Inside Sales Representative

Golden Valley Supply (GVS) is a leading independent distributor of interior finish building materials, acoustic solutions, and Division 10 specialties. We partner with clients to solve challenges, provide solutions, and create long-term relationships. Headquartered in Minneapolis, MN, GVS also operates offices/warehouses in Des Moines, IA, Fargo, ND, and Sioux Falls and Rapid City, SD.

We seek an energetic, self-motivated and experienced candidate for Inside Sales Representative to join our team. This opportunity is located in the Fargo, ND office.

The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for client service, relationship building, product knowledge, bid preparation, job tracking, project management and prospecting for revenue opportunities with existing and new clients.

Starting annual compensation is commensurate with relevant job experience. This position reports to the Company’s Branch Manager and also dotted-line reports to the Company’s Chief Sales Officer (CSO).

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop trusted relationships with current clients
  • Conduct pre-project/pre-construction bid administration by Identifying project leads from Bid Software, performing plan take-off estimates and compiling job files
  • Communicate with clients, architects, manufacturers and other key stakeholders on a regular basis
  • Track job projects, compile key data and provide analysis
  • Assist clients by providing project management for current and future jobs
  • Serve as a valued client partner by providing product knowledge and solutions
  • Deliver outstanding client service through regular and proactive touchpoints
  • Solve problems that may arise such as application or installation issues, changes in construction plans, damaged or defective materials, incorrectly supplied materials, etc.
  • Assist in prospecting for new business opportunities

Education & Experience

  • Associate degree or higher, or equivalent sales experience
  • Minimum three years inside sales experience, preferably in a distribution, construction or manufacturing environment

  • Self-directed with collaborative sales skills, initiative and flexibility
  • Motivated and proactive with the ability to function well in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent organizational, time management and attention to detail skills, with the ability to prioritize
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal, and interpersonal skills
  • Robust working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Comfortable with technology
