POSITION SUMMARY


The IT Specialist assists in the routine operation of Arkansas Hospice and related organizations computer information systems (including hardware, software, telephones, etc.) by being the front line of support. This position is also responsible for equipment configuration and imaging and deployment, general troubleshooting, and delivery coordination.


QUALIFICATIONS


Education:
High school diploma or GED required; graduation from an accredited technical college or bachelor’s degree in Computer Science preferred.

Experience: Minimum of one-year previous experience as a “Help Desk” technician; Microsoft certifications a plus.

Additional Requirements: Ability to work flexible hours and occasional overtime, reliable transportation and valid driver’s license, and personal cell phone are required.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Provides IT support in a timely and courteous manner.
  • Assists with development and maintenance of troubleshooting documentation.
  • Assists with installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of network software for all areas of the organizations (e.g., Microsoft applications, CYMA, Raiser’s Edge, etc.)
  • Participates in evaluation of network for HIPAA compliance and implements changes as instructed.
  • Conducts Security Awareness training for new staff members and provides on-going computer-related training as required.
  • Participates in Performance Improvement Programs.
  • Alternates on-call support with other department staff.
  • Assists with upgrades; installs software upgrades on end user IT assets.
  • Distributes hardware to new staff members and obtains required documentation for tracking purposes, signs equipment back into inventory upon employee termination. Set up forms in DocuSign or other system and work on a process to get paperwork back completed PRIOR to issuing equipment.
  • Tracks air card and tablet inventory, including new activations, account transfers and deactivation/suspension of accounts.
  • Participates in yearly inventory process for all CIS related hardware.
  • Always utilizes and models excellent customer service skills; seeks opportunities to assist co-workers; demonstrates teamwork and cooperation.
  • Always maintains strict confidentiality.
  • Continually meets organizational standards for attendance and punctuality; notifies supervisor in a timely manner when employee will be absent or late for work.
  • Adheres to all organizational and departmental policies.
  • Accepts direction and follows instructions from supervisor; seeks additional information as needed; works with minimal supervision.
  • Attends all required meeting and in-services; seeks opportunities for additional professional development activities as appropriate.
  • Arranges repair parts for laptops/desktops and performs repairs or schedules on-site repair when necessary.
  • Coordinate with Solutions Architect and Systems Engineer when equipment or supplies inventory is low so orders can be placed.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned. Verify each morning that the back-ups are appropriately working.
  • Support Telephone equipment and software.
  • Coordinate equipment destruction at a minimum once a year.

  • Adheres to all organizational and departmental policies and procedures.

Performs the above listed functions while regularly working with confidential and/or proprietary Arkansas Hospice and patient information, including but not limited to patient medical records, current or former employee information, Arkansas Hospice records, and other information that the employee regularly uses to perform job functions.
