*Job Summary

Employees in this position provide IT technical support for Mertz Manufacturing, Inc. The IT Support Specialist will plan, install, upgrade, monitor, and maintain both back-end and desktop/user equipment for the company.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assign new user accounts and email addresses in Active Directory.
• Administer laptops, desktops, printers, switches, firewalls, phones, cameras, software deployments, security updates and patches.
• Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment.
• Deploy and maintain workstations and virtual servers.
• Check computer hardware to ensure functionality.
• Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems.
• Ensure network connectivity throughout the company's LAN and VPN.
• Organize and schedule upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their work.
• Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, debugging etc.)

Position Qualifications

• Knowledge of and experience supporting Microsoft Windows desktop and server Operating Systems.
• Knowledge of and experience supporting Microsoft Active Directory and Exchange.
• Knowledge of and experience supporting VMWare or Hyper-V environments.
• Experience with Dell server and storage hardware.
• Knowledge and experience support networking infrastructure and VPNs.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-demand environment.
• Knowledge of ERP systems; preferably with Made2Manage ERP.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), with emphasis on Excel.
• Basic knowledge of computer hardware and software.
• Resourcefulness and problem solving aptitude.
• Good organizational skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Willing and able to be on-call nights and weekends.
• Willing and able to work some nights and weekends.
• Utilizes interpersonal skills to communicate with network users and other information systems professionals.
• Must have basic knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
