General Description

LockIT Technologies, LLC is seeking a Tier 1 or Tier 2 Technology Specialist in the North-Central Kansas area to work out of either our Beloit or Concordia office. This is not a remote or work-from-home listing.

We are looking to grow our managed services team with an individual who not only has a strong technical background but one who strives to provide the best customer experience every time. Our ideal team candidate would love the challenge of providing technical support for a wide variety of environments in nearly every vertical from finance to government. Day to day duties

  • Direct customer interactions while solving trouble tickets both remotely and onsite. Tickets include topics such as Office 365 with shared mailboxes, SharePoint internal and external access, SSL VPN for WFH setups, Remote Desktop environments, PC installations, manipulation of users in Active Directory including drive mappings, printer configurations.
  • Day to day maintenance and support checks on customer networks.
  • Review of logs, reports, and other metrics regarding customer status and compliance.
  • Install and maintain various IT-related equipment such as firewalls, servers, PCs, etc.
  • Document relevant information such as configurations and credentials.
  • Timekeeping, customer coordination, and customer service.

What you’ll need to succeed

  • A love of challenge and variety.
  • A+ or applicable certification attainable within 90 days is a good starting point, while an Associate Degree in Information Technology or related field is preferred.
  • Soft skills are necessary to handle customer interactions and take ownership of their environment. They are not just a number to us and should not be treated as such by you.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with other technical staff, as necessary. We are a team working towards a common goal and treat each other with respect and camaraderie.
  • Ability to follow internal procedures, document tickets and time daily in our PSA.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills. You are a customer liaison and guide as much as a tech.
  • Commit to continuous education, certification, and self-improvement.
  • Adhere to the highest standards regarding confidential customer information.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a drug test and background screening.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Our Knowledge Wishlist

  • Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) or equivalent certification.
  • 2-3 + years of RECENT professional experience- preferably with an MSP/VAR or IT Consulting Firm
  • MCSA, MCSE, Active Directory, Office 365
  • A+, Net+, Sec+
  • SonicWALL CSSA, CSSP
  • Cisco CCNA
  • ConnectWise or other PSA
  • RMM, Powershell Scripting Experience
  • SonicWALL, FortiGate, or other NextGen Firewalls
  • VMware and/or Hyper-V
  • Business Continuity Systems, Datto, Veeam

Work Hours

The typical work schedule is based upon 8-5 M-F, with occasional after-hours work as needed. After-hours work is both scheduled and unscheduled. Primary after-hours work revolves around planned projects such as 365 migrations but could also involve emergency outages.

Physical Requirements

Ability to transport and lift items such as servers or battery backups.

Travel Requirements

Frequent local travel required. Very limited potential for overnight stays on larger or distant projects.
