Pay Range: $50,000 - $70,000 per year (+Commision)

POSITION SUMMARY

As Key Account Manager at Platform, you will serve as a consultant to prospective and existing customers, recommending custom displays and services to simplify their path to retail success. You will educate, grow, and engage our customer base, developing new business opportunities along the way. To that purpose, you will implement our marketing routines and sales process in alignment with our mission, values, and vision. As part of our sales team, and in collaboration with our design and production teams, you will create a consistently delightful experience for new and long-standing customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Research potential and existing customers in order to serve them well, seeking knowledge of their products, understanding of their organizational structure, and awareness of news and changes within their company and industry.
  • Implement planned marketing routines, including email marketing, social media, and direct outreach to add value to our existing customers and inspire new opportunities.
  • Build strong relationships with prospective and existing customers (manufacturers, retailers, distributors, brokers), that lead to right-fit opportunities for us to serve, inspire growth, and simplify their path to success.
  • Create and maintain up-to-date lead, contact, prospect, customer, and project entries in our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, recording each contact in detail for team reference and a seamless customer experience.
  • Respond to lead inquiries: discover their retail placement challenges and goals, evaluate partnership and project potential according to established right-fit criteria, and educate and advise them about possible display and service solutions for their unique needs.
  • Respond to existing customer inquiries to evaluate new project opportunities and advise them about possible display and service solutions for their unique needs.
  • Implement our sales process to create a consistently delightful customer experience.
  • Gather detailed project information to share with the team to kickoff project, communicating with customers as questions arise.
  • Request needed information from prospects and customers (e.g., product samples, artwork, etc.), following up as necessary.
  • Present design options and proposals to customers.
  • Work closely with internal team to ensure designs and resulting products meet customer specifications.
  • Communicate with customers regarding the status of their prototype and production orders in coordination with the status updates emailed by the Logistics Coordinator.
  • Create / Update and email project reports to create a positive project close and encourage partnership on future projects.
  • Check in on display performance to evaluate display impact and offer practical guidance for potential next steps and future projects.
  • Properly complete and submit Business Expense Reports as necessary.
  • Stay on the pulse of the retail marketplace, including manufacturers, retailers, distributors, and brokers.
  • Continue to learn about emerging marketing and sales strategies, methods, and channels; bring forward potentially effective ideas for implementation.
  • Travel (15% - 25%) to visit prospective and existing customers, retail store locations, trade shows, conferences, and training.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field (Preferred)

Experience

  • At least 3 years of marketing and/or sales experience (Required)
  • At least 2 years of B2B experience (Required)
  • At least 2 years of custom manufactured products / services experience (Preferred)

Knowledge, Skills, + Abilities

  • Proficiency in using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (Preferred)
  • Expertise in online marketing systems and social media effective in B2B (Preferred)
  • Basic knowledge of engineered drawings and technical specifications (Preferred)
  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Fine-tuned listening and questioning skills
  • Strong research and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to stay organized in a fast-paced work environment
  • Valid driver license (Required)

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Casual work environment
  • Most duties are performed in an office environment at Platform Displays in Salem, Oregon
  • Some duties require travel
  • Routine use of modern office technology including a computer, printer/scanner/copier, and multi-line telephone system.
  • Business mileage reimbursement at the IRS standard mileage rate
