WE ARE ONLY CONSIDERING LOCAL NYC CANDIDATES

Private UES client seeks a reliable and professional Laundress to help manage and oversee all aspects of laundry. This is a full time, 5-day flex workweek, with overriding flexibility for long hours and additional days as needed upon request. The candidate must be flexible to work out of secondary residences (Southampton, NY and in New Jersey). The candidate will be in charge of managing all laundress duties within the home such as organization/cleaning of closets, keeping track of inventory and ordering supplies, and washing, and ironing of clothing. The ideal candidate will also be able work alongside other household staff.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • All aspects of laundress duties: Washing, laundering, steam-ironing, ironing, and closet organization
  • Completing the family’s laundry including washing and ironing clothes
  • Packing and unpacking clothes for travel, both domestic and abroad
  • Responsible for all wardrobe organization; maintaining closets to perfection; folding and hanging, etc.
  • Ordering laundry supplies; managing inventory
  • Additional laundress responsibilities and duties as needed and requested by the family

Requirements

  • Strong command of English language; outstanding communication skills both written and verbal
  • Excellent references required from both current and previous employers
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience working as a laundress for a PRIVATE CLIENT
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Exceptional organizational skills and dedication to responsibilities; willing and able to take direction well
  • MUST be thick-skinned, and work well in a fast-paced environment
  • Thorough knowledge of household cleaning, laundry, ironing, and storage organization
  • Excellent ironing & steaming skills as well as extensive experience in care with fine clothing, uniforms etc.
  • Polished, poised, and professional in both mindset and manner; use of utmost discretion and confidentiality at all times
  • Legally able to work in the United States

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
