Overview:
Our growing company is seeking to hire a Lean Project Engineer located at our Byron Center Michigan location. As an employee/owner at MEC, you will Plan, direct, and coordinate activities of designated project (specific focus on lean initiatives) to ensure that goals or objectives of project are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters by performing the following duties personally or through project team members.
Responsibilities:
  • Promote Mayville Engineering Co.’s DFM capabilities as a way of reducing part cost.
  • Apply lean tools including leading Kaizen events in work areas and product areas identified as largest need.
  • Instructs others in use of 6-Sigma/Lean/CI tools including Value Stream Mapping, Standard Operations, 6S, Error Proofing, Kaizen Events, Material Flow, Statistical Controls etc.
  • Will own completion of all the CI/Lean updates in our Team Guru software.
  • Leads and executes assigned projects and all assigned project task to completion as scheduled
  • Reviews project proposal or plan to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of project.
  • Reports to Management on trends or changes occurring with our lean initiatives.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university or Associate’s Degree from technical college or university; or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Lean training and experience.
