Smithville, an established and trusted provider of Internet, Voice, Security, and Enterprise data services, is seeking a Manager for our Project Management department. Recognized nationally as a Top 100 broadband provider, we pride ourselves on our ability to provide our customers with excellent customer service and prompt solutions to their needs. While the company has grown to be Indiana's largest privately held telecommunications organization, its core family-focused values make it unique. Smithville maintains more than 3,000 miles of high-capacity fiber in the state of Indiana and a 100 Gigabit fiber ring with full redundancy that serves large-scale businesses and enterprise-level operations.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
You and your team will provide project management for company initiatives and ensure operations and infrastructure are readied and in place for project launches. As the Manager, you will ensure that personnel (internal and external), materials, financial resources, and support systems are aligned for each project and used effectively to implement and support projects, the company, and customers.
In this position, you will develop and implement the department’s standards for initiating and executing projects. Additionally, as needed, you will consult with department managers and external teams on other company-led initiatives to help ensure efficient execution.
You will spend approximately 60% of your time managing projects, 15% supporting and managing the team, and 25% monitoring overall company project resources, forecasting project impact, monitoring project performance, and communicating with leaders and key stakeholders.
You will make crucial decisions daily. Decisions will include but are not limited to: personnel allocation (staffing resources), material resource allocation (equipment/materials needed versus required), change management (altering projects as necessary to accommodate required scope, budget, timeline, or resource changes), defining project tasks (determining tasks required to complete objectives), and reviewing financials (adjusting as necessary to meet scope and budget).
