Guided by the values of the company, the Market Development Manager increases brand awareness in key markets of the US by developing and maintaining business relationships with growers and selected other influencers (consultants, seed collaborators, etc.) identified as strategic to ADAMA in an assigned geography and crops. This role will have a technical focus and support ad-hoc Regional Account Managers’ (RAM) requirements in service of strategic accounts. This role reports to the Market Development Leader.

Fundamental Areas of Focus:

  • Key field-level point of contact for specified crops in a geography for related influencers/key stakeholders.
  • Assist account management teams in the local execution of Strategic Account plans and local initiatives, where identified.
  • Conduct agronomic focused calls on targeted growers and influencers, focus on the benefits of using ADAMA crop protection products & services.
  • Develop an area action plan that includes overall business objectives, strategies for growth, identifies top influencers.
  • Effectively manage in-season agility to react to emerging needs and unplanned priorities.
  • Work with the Heads of Marketing, Development & Sales to deliver both technical and marketing value to a range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work closely with the Sales team to build brand awareness with key stakeholders (particularly agronomists, spray contractors, industry bodies, key consultants & end users).
  • Take a key role in the extension of new and differentiated products and be actively involved in generating new marketing and product development concepts.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Ag science.
  • A minimum 5 years’ experience in Agronomy and/or Sales.
  • Located in mid-south growing region.
  • Willingness to travel locally and inter-state as needed.
  • Strong sense of customer.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve business outcomes by leading others through coaching and influence.
  • Strategic and tactical thinking, strong intellectual curiosity and competency in business acumen.
  • Excellent people skills, project management skills, with an ability to openly convey information to team members in a timely, concise manner.
