Block by Block provides cleaning, safety, hospitality and outreach to cities and business improvement districts all over the country. This nationwide organization was founded in 1995 right here in Louisville and is still headquartered here on South 4th Street here in Downtown Louisville, KY! We’ve grown to support over 150 accounts in over 140 cities and were still growing. This role provides a great learning atmosphere and plenty of opportunities to grow! The Community Journalist/Marketing Coordinator will play a key role in supporting and executing marketing strategy for Block by Block through impactful, creative and tactical promotion including news articles, digital marketing, event coordination and collateral creation. This role will work in tandem with our internal marketing team as well as directly with our local program management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

·Identify and develop compelling stories about programming in written and visual form to build community goodwill and help position Block by Block as an impactful partner

·Use articles, social media, video, infographics or other creative mediums to deliver stories to our audience

·Help build and manage assets for field operations including photos and videos

·Provide support for marketing and graphics team and be available to represent BBB in a professional capacity for media opportunities and attend events on behalf of BBB

·Collaborate and work closely with BBB Corporate Communications team on developing a communication strategy for each initiative with corporate and executive staff to develop marketing strategy for customers and the company as a whole while developing professional relationships throughout the Louisville community in order to heighten awareness of the Company and further the objectives

· Must possess marketing and/or creative experience.

· Degree in journalism, public relations ,graphic design, marketing, communication, or related field is preferred, or equivalent combination of both experience and education.

· Possess conceptual skills, high level sense of design, color, layout and typography

· Workable knowledge of Adobe Suite products, InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop

Preferred Skills:

· Photo or video editing skills and experience in copy editing a plus

· Ability to take projects from start to finish with minimal supervision

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

· Detail oriented, able to meet deadlines and collaborate with team members
