Medical Receptionist to work in a professional medical practice in Yarmouthport, Sandwich and Nantucket. This position will be assisting doctors and physician’s assistants with scheduling and front office operations. The qualified applicant must have experience as a medical office secretary. This role requires accuracy, attention to details, initiative and a pro-active approach to duties and responsibilities while working with patients, physicians and co-workers. The qualified applicant must demonstrate a positive attitude, with professional ethics, appearance and conduct. Duties Include but not limited to: Greeting, screening, scheduling, and directing patients throughout the office Verifying insurance coverage with patients, collecting outstanding balances and copays. Answering and screening telephone calls, taking messages, providing information, and sending out mail/faxes Calling and rescheduling patients for missed/no show appointments Calling patients to remind them of upcoming appointments Obtaining medical records from referring physicians Medical billing and follow up on claim denials Qualifications Proficient in MS Word Strong communication skills (both written and verbal), well organized, self-starter and be able to work well on his/her own Must be a team player with flexibility to work multiple office locations, including early evenings, occasional holidays and occasional Sundays. www.Briarpatchpedi.com
