Responsibilities
Position highlights

Inpatient and Outpatient; Heart failure cardiology in our downtown Seattle clinic and hospital.

Rotating; 5 days inpatient one week. 3 days outpatient the following week.

Monday-Friday plus rotating Saturdays. 10 hour shifts (or dependant on patient care needs).

Call; Saturday call rotating every 10-12 weeks to include rounding and patient phone calls. Possible Sunday call to be added at the same intervals in the future.
Team Details The VMMC Heart Institute includes Cardiology and associated subspecialties, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Cardiac Diagnostic Testing, and Cardiac Rehab. We have 31 providers across the institute, including 14 MDs, 14 APPs, and 3 PharmDs. Our APP support falls into 3 different areas. Inpatient and Outpatient General Cardiology support, Electrophysiology support, and Cardiothoracic Surgery support. Inpatient and Outpatient Cardiology support consists of 5 APPs and supports the inpatient cardiology service as well as outpatient general cardiology. Our heart specialists are recognized nationally in the treatment for heart failure and heart attack and have cardiac surgery outcomes that are in the top 10 percent in the nation. At the same time, we are national leaders in providing appropriate care.
Qualifications
Nurse Practitioner:

1+ years advanced practice work experience

Washington State Registered Nurse License and an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner License are required for this job.

Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and National Provider Identifier (NPI) numbers may be required depending on the position, as well as prescriptive authority.

Advanced background in nursing; an understanding of anatomy, physiology, histology, and pharmacology; and strong interpersonal and counseling skills.

Certification by specialty area as well as work experience in specialty area may be required, depending on the position.

Physician Assistant-C:

1+ years advanced practice work experience

This position requires Certification as a Physician Assistant with prescriptive authority in the State of Washington.
