Busy orthopaedic practice seeking an experienced, full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to help with our orthopaedic urgent care clinic. The ideal Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will run the Same Day Access (SDA) program, directing patient care for a variety of clinical orthopaedic presentations including:

• Sprains and strains
• Sports injuries
• Simple lacerations and tendon/ligament injuries
• Foot, ankle, knee, and hip injuries
• Hand, wrist, and elbow injuries
• Back Pain
• Fractures and dislocations
• Pediatric injuries
• Acute and chronic orthopaedic care needs
• Other access needs

Successful candidate should be able to work well in a fast-paced environment, have excellent diagnostic and interpersonal skills, and a commitment to team building and overall aptitude for leadership. Able to anticipate patient care needs when census is high and efficient patient flow is essential.

Responsibilities include:

• Ability to run the SDA clinic (e.g., order x-rays or other diagnostic testing, H&P, develop medical plan, educate patients on plan and proceed with treatment, consult with other FBJ providers as needed)
• Perform therapeutic procedures such as splinting, casting, wound care, joint injections, aspirations, etc
• Prescribe medication, when necessary, within scope of practice and license authority
• Refer patients to appropriate subspecialist for follow up
• Other administrative follow up responsibilities

• Compensation: Base salary open depending on experience ($100,000 to $145,000) + annual discretionary bonus

• Two years of orthopaedic experience preferred
• Current license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Arizona preferable
• Completed a Nurse Practitioner/ Physician Assistant education program approved or recognized by the AZ Board
• Must hold national certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant from a national certifying body recognized by the AZ Board
• Current BLS certification
• DEA registration
