Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity and immediate need for a P-8 Mechanical/Electrical Systems Engineering Manager (Level K) in Tukwila, WA . As the leader of the P-8 Mechanical Systems Installation and Electrical Systems team you will be working in a highly dynamic team environment developing and maintaining Mechanical Systems Installation designs and Electrical Systems design for new development, production support, modification kit development, and fleet support issues.

Position Responsibilities:
Manages, develops, and motivates employees performing engineering and technical activities in the areas of Mechanical Systems Installation and Electrical Systems Engineering.

Performs Control Account Management (CAM) activities.

Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.

Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers and direct reports.

Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.

Develops and maintains a culture of seeking to understand, courage to speak up, active listening and servant leadership to manage, develop and motivate employees.

Reports progress and elevates issues to senior management as required.

Partners successfully with other organizations such as Mission Systems, Mechanical Systems Design, Structures, Operations, Production Engineering, and Supply Chain.

This position allows some telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite three days per week in Tukwila, WA.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret clearance Post Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Engineering.

4+ years of experience in engineering (or less with advanced degree).

Availability to travel up to 10% of your time.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
1+ years of experience leading teams in a formal and /or informal leadership role.

Mechanical Systems or Electrical Systems experience.

Experience collaborating and integrating various functional groups such as manufacturing, engineering and supplier management.

Strong organization and communication skills.

Summary pay range: $138,550 - $187,450
