Ritz Instrument Transformers, an industry leader in instrument transformers, cast-coil power transformers, and solid-insulated bus systems, has an opening in our Human Resources Department for a Payroll Specialist on first shift, reporting to the Human Resource Manager.

Position responsibilities include:

SUMMARY

The main responsibility for this role will include collecting and reviewing employee information and working hours, calculating wages, preparing and processing employee payments, and maintaining accurate payroll records. The Payroll Specialist duties also involve a wide range of support activities inside the HR department and is responsible for providing administrative support to other HR staff, including recruiting, scheduling onboarding tasks, employee relations and managing communications for the HR department.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Inputting data into payroll and administrative databases and software programs, to include garnishments, raises, insurance deductions and coverages, employee retirement contributions, vacation, paid and unpaid time off, leaves, transfers and terminations.

2. Calculating wages, benefits, tax deductions, bonuses etc.

3. Coordinate with the HR department to ensure correct employee data.

4. Maintain confidential of all employee and payroll information.

5. Review and audit payroll each pay period, and resolve any payroll discrepancies.

6. Maintaining accurate records of payroll documentations and transactions.

7. Responding to payroll-related inquires and resolving concerns.

8. Preparing periodic payroll reports for review by management.

9. Work with the accounting department to correct any discrepancies in payroll.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
1. High school diploma required.

2. Degree in business administration, finance, or accounting is preferred.

3. 2+ years of experience working in payroll office required, 5+ preferred.

4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and payroll software programs. Prefer Ceridian/Dayforce or SAP.

5. Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail.

6. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

7. Good time management and organizational skills.

8. Working knowledge of relevant legal regulations.

9. Able to prioritize and multitask effectively.

10. Must be able to quickly resolve people’s problems.

11. Be able to stand or sit for lengths time.

Successful candidate must be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment. We would prefer experience in prior payroll role or in an accounting/finance role. Qualified candidates should submit their resume and cover letter.
