Summary:

  • The Registered Nurse is accountable for the provision of safe, efficient, and therapeutically effective care in the patient care unit to which they are assigned
  • Care is delivered in compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and legal and regulatory standards
  • Specific components of the registered nurse's role include assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care
  • Documents this nursing process on all prescribed forms
  • Develops and maintains collaborative, professional relationships with other members of the healthcare team
  • Prioritizes and coordinates the patient’s care with other members of the health care team
  • Consistent demonstration of all necessary competencies for the position assumed and unit assigned is required
  • Actively contributes to the evaluation of patient care and nursing practices through continuous quality improvement efforts
  • Accepts responsibility for personal professional development and contributes to the growth of others on the health care team
  • Fulfills responsibilities as an employee of St. Joseph Health Services of RI

Education:

  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing School
  • BSN preferred

Licensure:

  • Current Rhode Island RN licensure required
  • BLS / ACLS required

Experience:

  • 2 years of previous hospital experience required
