South-Central-Tennessee based independent pharmacy group is growing our brand, creating an immediate opening for an additional full-time pharmacist to join our staff. Must be willing to travel and rotate between the stores we have located in the Sequatchie Valley. Training will be done at our Chattanooga, TN location, Access Pharmacy.

We prefer candidates with prior experience, but will consider all interested, qualified applicants with an ACTIVE TN Pharmacist license. Prefer candidates with experience in compounding (sterile and non-sterile), medical equipment, long-term care, infusion services, POC testing, and additional licensure in GA. Pharmacist must be certified to administer vaccinations. A desire and ability to provide OUTSTANDING customer service and PERSONALIZED ATTENTION to all customers is a MUST for this position!

Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, tasks such as:

  • Serving patients by preparing medications, giving pharmacological information to multidisciplinary health care team, and monitoring patient drug therapies.
  • Preparing medications by reviewing and interpreting physician orders and detecting therapeutic incompatibilities.
  • Dispensing medications by compounding, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals.
  • Controlling medications by monitoring drug therapies; advising interventions.
  • Completing pharmacy operational requirements by organizing and directing technicians’ workflow, verifying their preparation and labeling of pharmaceuticals, and verifying order entries, charges, and inspections.
  • Providing pharmacological information by answering questions and requests of health care professionals and counseling patients on drug therapies.
  • Complying with state and federal drug laws as regulated by the state board of pharmacy, the drug enforcement administration, and the food and drug administration.
  • Maintaining records for controlled substances and removing outdated and damaged drugs from the pharmacy inventory.
  • Supervising the work results of support personnel.
  • Maintaining current registration, studying existing and new legislation, anticipating legislation, and advising management on needed actions.
  • Protecting patients and technicians by adhering to infection-control protocols.
  • Maintaining safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Some weekend work is required (just half days on alternating Saturdays), but total weekly hours will not exceed 40 hours per week. Successful candidates must be licensed in the state of Tennessee and able to pass criminal and employment background screening as well as drug testing.
