About Us:

The Arc of Essex County is a non-profit organization that provides services and programs for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. Our corporate office is located in Livingston, NJ and we have programs throughout Essex County.

The Early Intervention team at the Shapiro Center comprises of early childhood specialists who work together with parents and other family members to maximize the growth and development of children by supporting the advancement of motor, communication, and social skills.

Job Summary:

We are currently hiring for Casual and LLC Physical Therapists to join the Shapiro Center team. This position is in a natural environment e.g. home-based, day-care etc.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide natural therapeutic setting-based physical therapy services to children ages birth to 3
• Provide therapy services to improve gross motor development, address large motor concerns, and increase strength and muscle development
• Provide therapy to assist with achievement of gross motor milestones at appropriate levels of development and ability
• Assist with the use of adaptive equipment including orthotics
• Perform early intervention assessments
• Follow goals and outcomes from the Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP)

Education / Work Experience / Skills:

• Graduate degree from an accredited school of Physical Therapy
• Physical Therapy license with New Jersey State Department of Law and Public Safety; Division of Consumer Affairs
• Minimum 1 year working experience with individuals from birth to five years of age who have developmental delays and disabilities
• Valid NJ Driver’s License with the ability to become and remain covered under the agency’s insurance policy

LLC Requirements:

• Workers' Comp and Liability Insurance required
