Podiatry Medical Assistant-Aveon Health in North Scottsdale.Medical assistant certification and prior podiatry experience are not necessary, but strongly encouraged. Strong computer skills are recommended. MA works under the direct supervision of a podiatrist with the practice and performs various clinical and clerical tasks for the overall treatment of the podiatric patient. The candidate must have continuous exhibition of professionalism, strong work and ethical conduct, integrity, and demonstrate dependability.

The medical assistant is expected to take vitals, triage the patient, perform duties to prepare the patient and room for the doctor, document the appropriate notes, and perform tasks that he / she has been trained. These duties/ tasks may include the following: surgical tray set up for minor procedures or wound care, diabetic exams, wound dressings, suture removal, application and removal of casts, dispensing, fitting, adjusting, and instructing patients on durable medical equipment.

Importantly, the MA must be well organized and ensure follow through on patients for call backs and scheduling. The employee must keep a sharp eye as to the schedule and ensure all will run smoothly.

When not providing direct patient care, you may also provide additional support to our office/ administrative staff throughout the clinic once your responsibilities have been met. This includes answering the phone or assisting other MA'S for the other providers.
