- Assertively manage a portfolio of product development projects as well as the team that is charged with executing on those projects.
- Responsible for executing an annual operating plan that delivers stated technical, business, and financial objectives for assigned products in development.
- Provide technical expertise to operations and marketing including translation of customer needs into manufacturing specifications.
- Lead and develop a team of ambitious engineers, chemists, and technicians to achieve company goals and maintain an engaged workforce.
- Foster an atmosphere of personal development and individual engagement while driving strong team performance and continual improvement.
- Lead development teams, profit improvement initiatives, and material changes using effective Project Management skills and techniques.
- Develop scale-able processes to efficiently deliver business results through product development.
- Refine stage gate and project portfolio processes to best achieve company goals.
- Set and deliver financial goals for assigned technical development opportunities.
- Manage a portfolio of technical projects, maintaining portfolio balance between growth, profit improvement, and ongoing business support.
- Lead the team that drives the second half of new product development including production scale trials and commercialization of new products and solutions at customers.
- Develop relationships with key customers in the target markets.
- Work with Sales and Marketing to understand competitive positioning relative to Appvion’s product line including design, performance, and cost.
- Work with sales and marketing to transition projects in development to commercialization.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in project management or new product development including cross-functional team leadership.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Technical discipline required. Advanced degree in Marketing or Business preferred.
- Excellent project management skills (prioritization, resource allocation, multitasking and business analytics).
- Proven expertise in developing and launching multiple products; new products, product line extensions, and managing product changes, all while maintaining world class quality.
- A leader in highly collaborate environments, both internally and externally. Prefer track record of development of successful partnerships with external customers and companies.
- Experience in multicultural environments preferred; ability to travel domestically and internationally.
