Certification: Tertiary qualification in Engineering

Experience: This position requires up to 10 years of relevant experience in engineering and project management.

Summary: Generally responsible for performing all aspects of project management for moderately complex engineering project assignments ensuring total delivery of the services on time, within performance budget and quality expectations. This work will be performed under minimal supervision at an industrial facility in Vidalia, LA.

This is a long-term, full-time opportunity offering full benefits and competitive pay. Per diem is available for those who qualify.

Leadership:

  • Ensure compliance with all Health, Safety, Security, Environment & Community (HSSEC) standards and drive a strong safety culture
  • Assist in leading and developing an effective, high-performance organizational culture within the Owners team
  • Report and escalate to management as needed

Safety Management:

  • Ensure integrated safety management to meet the minimum of the company CRM and OSHA Standards.
  • Integrated ‘One Team’ approach with operations. Foster and interdependent safety culture focusing on cultural and behavioral safety from leadership to the frontline contractor teams. Champion in-field safety interactions and promote real time adjustment in the field over the changing safety focus from design to mobile equipment to mechanical, electrical, and change of state.
  • Integrated management of safety systems including incident management, COVID management, reward and recognition, policies and procedures, for “One Team” approach and seamless handover to operations.
  • Review contractor safety for accuracy and report safety statistics to leadership

Budget and Schedule Development & Management:

  • Continue and Improve reporting financials to budget and suggesting options for best value and efficiency
  • Auditing and tracking spend and escalations. Cash flow reporting and contingency planning
  • Auditing and tracking schedule – ensure the S3 (Primavera) Schedule is realistic and highlighting areas where target dates are incapable of project schedule deadlines. Provide proactive schedule management to avoid delays and ensure the project is completed on time
  • Ensure compliance to DBRA and DOE for Phase 2 Loan

Design Oversight & Review:

  • Oversee and review any additional change orders to ensure the company's scope is being met
  • Ensure applicable codes are met and regulations are followed
  • Champion within the OSBL (Outside Battery Limits) is on track and tasked appropriately within the team. Ensure and overall schedule for the company and OSBL scope
  • Manage the completion of the detailed engineering and transition to the home office construction support.

Construction Coordination and Monitoring:

  • Owner of construction management contract
  • Observe construction through all phases to ensure work is completed in schedule to design
  • Perform risk assessment for onsite activities

Operations Handover:

  • Operations readiness client for operations team. Coordinate the readiness in areas such as master data, walkdowns, equipment strategies, and the remaining disciplines for readiness.
  • During the staggered mechanical, electrical, instrument, and other completions, coordinate the handover to operations
  • Ensures vendor reps complete their accountable role
  • Optimizes the sequence for hydro / other pre checks, flush, wash, fill, commission, and identify any punchlists items

Punchlist and Closeout:

  • Ensure the project is closed out properly
  • Check all performance guarantees and contractual obligations are met
  • Create punchlists for areas and summarize tasks no completed during the project
  • Transitions to alliance contractor the annual capital & major maintenance project leader
