A Project Manager IT Distribution provides overall project management responsibility for assigned major innovation projects and cost savings opportunities that contribute to business growth and efficiencies. Responsibility also includes providing project management support to existing product changes. Leadership skills in working with a cross-functional team through roadblocks and issues that would impede progress are required. Demonstrated ability to influence across business units and effectively coordinate external and internal resources is needed along with a project management track record leading and delivering large complex projects. The success candidate will serve as a mentor and an example for best in class project management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead planning and or implementation of projects. May have to participate in the design and or testing phases as SME. Facilitate the definition of project missions goals tasks and resource requirements. Resolve or assist in the resolution of conflicts within or between projects or functional areas. Develop methods to monitor project or area progress and provide corrective supervision if necessary. Responsible for assembling the project staff; for their technical or functional performance during the project. Manage project budget and resource allocation. Develop and maintain detailed project plan and charter. Responsible for successful completion of all deliverables of the project. Effectively manage select vendors, review their billings, and ensure integrity of their deliverables. Facilitate the definition of acceptability criteria with the project customer users of the solution. Guide and oversee all members of the project team in the planning of their tasks. Work cross-functionally to solve problems and implement changes. Follow defined agreed upon project management methodologies and agreed upon PMO processes. Report project status and issues on a regular basis to the Steering Committee and PMO.
Requirements:
Education:
- BA or BS degree in computer science, information systems, mathematics, operations management, engineering, or other related discipline. Equivalent experience may be acceptable.
Experience:
- 6 plus years of proven experience as a project manager with emphasis on IT projects. Experience with wide-ranging information technology services divestures acquisitions hardware migrations and service resiliency. Must demonstrate the ability to schedule and manage resource capacity required of cross-functional projects spanning multiple IT groups. Demonstrated success delivering projects on time meeting requirements and with high team satisfaction including complex projects and projects involving a number of project staff and users; demonstrated aptitude for effective leadership and expertise utilizing multiple project methodologies such as Agile and Waterfall.
Computer Skills:
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Experience with project management tools like Clarity, Planisware, MS Project, Smartsheet, etc.

Basic knowledge of JIRA, HP Quality Center/ALM, Service Now, and Remedy is a plus.
Communication Skills:

Must exhibit strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to tailor messaging to the different levels of the organization.
Special Skills Desired:
- Formal certification in Project Management PMI

Experience with SaaS contracts, master service agreements, and software licensing acquisitions, divestitures, transition service agreements, hardware lease contracts, knowledge preferred.
