PROJECT MANAGER

POSITION SUMMARY
Construction project managers are responsible for ensuring the timely and costly completion of construction projects by overseeing all phases of the project. This entails working with a variety of stakeholders to schedule and plan work, coordinate equipment and materials, operate within budget, and monitor overall progress.
Construction project managers are often at the construction site for much of the work week assisting in completion of projects in various capacities (laborer, foreman, team lead, etc).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential general construction skills include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Working knowledge of general labor skills
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in general labor
  • Cleaning and preparing construction sites
  • Loading and unloading materials and equipment
  • Erecting and dismantling scaffolding and temporary structures
  • Digging trenches and foundations, compacting, and backfilling trenches/holes
  • Operating and tending machinery and heavy equipment
  • Following instructions from supervisors and implementing construction plans
  • Assisting team members in their duties
  • Responsible for daily jobsite clean-up
  • Ensure safe work environment
  • Interact professionally with customers, trade partners, and suppliers/vendors
  • Other maintenance duties that arise
  • Continually complete additional training as required
  • Communicate effectively with the rest of the teams on issues and concerns
  • Comfortable with reading and interpreting blueprints and drawings

The essential Project Manager skills include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Plans all phases of the construction lifecycle from initiation to completion.
  • Obtains all necessary regulations and permits.
  • Orders necessary supplies, tools, and equipment.
  • Makes sure projects are aligned with agreed-upon plans.
  • Manages a construction manager and oversees their work.
  • Communicates with clients and delivers project progress reports.
  • Develops and adheres to the budget, timeline, and quality control plan.
  • Collaborates with architects, engineers, electricians, and other specialists.
  • Writes and submits testing and inspection logs, quality assurance reports, and punch lists.
  • Ensures that all local, state, and national building codes and regulations and safety precautions are followed.
  • Uses scheduling software to update schedules, track progress, and document project progression
  • Find and sell jobs as appropriate through continual customer relations or otherwise

  • Hold the arm and hand in one position or hold the hand steady while moving the arm.
  • Make quick, precise adjustments to machine controls.
  • Use stomach and lower back muscles to support the body for long periods without getting tired.
  • See details of objects that are less than a few feet away.
  • See details of objects that are more than a few feet away.
  • Be physically active for long periods without getting tired or out of breath.
  • Bend, stretch, twist, or reach out.
  • Use muscles for extended periods without getting tired.
  • Use fingers to grasp, move, or assemble very small objects.
  • Adjust body movements or equipment controls to keep pace with speed changes of moving objects.
  • Determine the distance between objects.
  • Understand the speech of another person.
  • Speak clearly so listeners can understand.

It is not as important, but still necessary, for general construction workers to be able to:

  • React quickly using hands, fingers, or feet.
  • Choose quickly and correctly among various movements when responding to different signals.
  • See differences between colors, shades, and brightness.
  • Keep or regain the body's balance or stay upright when in an unstable position.
  • Coordinate movement of several parts of the body, such as arms and legs, while the body is moving.
  • Focus on one source of sound and ignore others.
  • Make fast, repeated movements of fingers, hands, and wrists.
  • Use muscles to jump, sprint, or throw objects.
  • While looking forward, see objects or movements that are off to the side.
  • Quickly and repeatedly bend, stretch, twist, or reach out.
  • Move arms and legs quickly.
  • See objects in very bright or glaring light.
  • Hear sounds and recognize the difference between them.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
