Position Level: Non-Exempt


Reports To: Regional Sales Manager Contractor/Project Management Supervisor/Lead


Position Summary: Manage construction projects from quotation to final billing for contractor customers to ensure project accuracy and customer satisfaction.


Essential Job Functions (include but are not limited to):

  • Manages and maintains all projects through the virtual job folders on the ‘SPS’ site for project tracking, billing, delivery dates or special requirements
  • Researches and provides price quotes for customers to use in bid preparation
  • Provides customers with submittals, shipping requirements and manufacturer information
  • Manages all available resources such as vendor catalogs, web research and vendor communication to solve project discrepancies
  • Cross-sells, up-sells, and assists customers in sourcing additional products when appropriate
  • Monitors and manages individual job queues, open order reports, and return goods queue
  • Maintains communication with Account Managers for bids, open orders, and customer contacts
  • Develops and maintains constructive relationships with all Kirby Risk departments, business units and vendor partners to ensure project requirements are satisfied
  • Supports corporate marketing initiatives through counter days, customer appreciation days, lunch and learns, employee training, and effective product launches in alignment with all Kirby Risk programs
  • Provides back-up for other areas as assigned
  • Builds and maintains relationships with customer key buying influences, while providing information about order status and receiving customer feedback for Kirby Risk management
  • Demonstrates professionalism when representing the company in all communications with internal and external customers
  • Conscious consideration of the Kirby Risk organization when engaging on social media, mindful of the images and language used
  • Completes and demonstrates a full understanding of ongoing cyber security training concepts and applications
  • Works within the policies and procedures of the company.
  • In addition to the Essential Functions and responsibilities listed above, all positions are also responsible for:

o Emulates the Kirby Risk Values & Principles in daily interactions with internal and external customers

o Meeting company standards pertaining to quantity and quality of work performed on an ongoing basis, performing all work-related tasks in a manner that is in compliance with all Company policies and procedures

    • Adhering to Company policies, procedures, and directives regarding standards of workplace behavior in completing job duties and assignments while maintaining regular and timely attendance

Education/Skills/Experience Required:

  • College level coursework and/or equivalent 4 + years relevant work experience
  • 3+ years electrical products sales experience; thorough knowledge of electrical products and their applications
  • Understanding of business operations and processes
  • Knowledge of construction basics: accurately read product catalogs, price sheets, blueprints and specifications.
  • Strong written & verbal communication, interpersonal and customer contact skills
  • Demonstrates computer skills and aptitude; Microsoft Office preferred
  • Strong telephone etiquette, and meeting management skills
  • Diligent project scope understanding and kick off meeting management
  • Collaborative, consultative, team-oriented style with well-developed communication skills
  • Great attention to detail and organizational skills; ability to handle multiple tasks/priorities
  • Listening effectively when others are speaking

Training to be completed within 6 Months:

  • Comprehensive understanding of the vision, goals and objectives of the business unit

Work Environment:

  • Primarily indoors, controlled temperature environment
  • May be required to go to customer site where the environmental conditions will vary
  • Ability to perform essential functions of the role in a work environment with a variation of noise levels to include moderate noise due to, machinery, moving vehicles, alarms, vibration, and general conversations
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced competitive collaborative business environment
  • This position will be working in an office environment, utilizing typical office equipment Computer/printer/copier/scanner, Telephone/cell, all equipment related to area
  • Ability to perform in a team environment embodying the Values & Principles while communicating in a professional manner
  • Sustains housekeeping standards in accordance with appearance guidelines

Safety Requirements:

  • Report any unsafe task or operation immediately to management prior to continuing task
  • Immediately report incidents involving injury, illness, safety hazard or property damage.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as instructed by immediate supervisor
  • Comply with all company and customer OSHA, safety policies, procedures, rules, and best practices
  • Participate in safety meetings and training
  • Be constantly aware of personal safety and that of coworkers
  • Ability to safely and effectively use and operate equipment required for work
