About the Role

The Project Manager / Program Manager provides direction and coordination of activities for one or more departments, including Operations, Engineering, Business Development, or as assigned. This position also aids the Chief Financial Officer in formulating and administering organization policies, personally or through subordinate managers. Manages activities of others in all functional disciplines leading to the successful execution of assigned projects.

YOUR Responsibilities include:

  • Directs, coordinates, and exercises functional authority for planning, staffing, and directing execution of EDI’s new product development projects in accordance with new product Marketing Requirements Definition (MRD) and subsequently generated Technical Requirements Definition (TRD) through the product’s lifecycle from concept to production.
  • Assists Department heads with establishing project plans with milestones and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders (Operations, Business Development, Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, Finance, and Administration) and ensuring accountability of team members for these deliverables.
  • Serve as facilitator for all assigned projects, audit and validate completed items, and reported results with appropriate departments.
  • Schedule and hold project and gate review meetings, determine the frequency of meetings, and drive teams to success.
  • Works with the Senior Leadership team and project stakeholders on defining the scope of projects, creating project budgets, obtaining capital approval, and being accountable for achieving the project timelines and budgets.
  • Coordinate early and throughout the new product design cycle all activities concerned with technical developments, prototypes, pilot builds, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems. Promote the inclusion of all affected stakeholders (i.e. Production, Purchasing, Planning, Quality, Tech-support, Repair shop, Finance, etc.) throughout the design cycle.
  • Control project change activity taking responsibility for the preparation of cost estimates.
  • Issue written agendas in advance of meetings and timely distribution of minutes.
  • Maintain SharePoint and/or other databases with project status and key project information.
  • Interface with all levels of management and ensure alignment throughout the organization.
  • Use/apply good program management techniques to Identify project risks, prepare mitigation and contingency plans, track progress to goals and project timeline, and escalate when appropriate.
  • Confers with the Leadership Team to review achievements and discuss required changes in goals or objectives resulting from current status and conditions.
  • Manages the team on completing and submitting the Red/Yellow/Green reports.
  • Lead 5 Why activities for any TTIs that are off track, either budget spending or savings achievements.
  • Participates/leads Continuous Improvement events as needed.
  • Other activities assigned by the Senior leadership or Management teams.

Your skills and qualifications include:

  • B.S. Degree in Engineering or Business minimum.
  • 3+ years of related experience working in the manufacturing of circuit board assembly or in the electronics manufacturing industry.
  • Fully bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
  • Understanding of Strategy Deployment practices and managing TTIs.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience managing technical programs or projects.
  • Must be comfortable managing meetings and holding project timelines.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to influence, lead and drive change in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong business acumen and viewed as a trusted advisor by key business stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a challenging environment with competing priorities.
  • Proficient in MS Office and Outlook
