Austin Armature Works is a growing Industrial Distributor and Service Center specializing in Electric Motors, VFDs, Pumps, Controls, and Industrial Service. We currently have an immediate opportunity for a knowledgeable Pump Mechanic in Buda, TX.

We are looking for an individual with experience who can demonstrate high-level of knowledge repairing technical mechanical equipment that requires precise measurements and high quality repairs.

Responsibilities for this position will include troubleshoot, disassemble, inspect and repair all mechanical aspects of Water and Waste Water Pumps including Submersible Sewage, Vertical Turbine, and centrifugal pumps. Documenting all equipment conditions before, during and after repairs. Instructing JR Mechanics in proper techniques.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Ø Must be able to disassemble and reassemble various types of Pumps. Specializing in Submersible Sewage Pumps

Ø Knowledge of tolerances for bearing fit and clearances, motor connections and testing.

Ø Knowledge of operating lifting equipment such as forklifts, hoists and cranes.

Ø Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures; report all unsafe activity .

Ø Participate in team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of Pump repair experience.

Additionally, the following skills and abilities are needed:

Ø Experience with use of a computer

Ø Adaptability to changing priorities

Ø Good communication skills, both oral and written

Ø Self starter and self reliant

Ø Excellent problem solving skills

Ø Valid driver’s license
