The Life of an HCA Nurse

Rehabilitation nurses help patients who have long-term physical disabilities or chronic illnesses and assist them with any personal limitations which might result from these disabilities. These nurses work with patients and families to create a personally tailored recovery plan. Rehabilitation nurses also help patients to set both long and short-term goals. As a rehabilitation nurse, your primary objective is to help your patients gain back their health and independence to the best of their ability.

• 11 bed inpatient acute rehab unit.
• The culture is very positive and team oriented with a strong leadership team.
• The average length of stay is 10-14 days so you get to build a relationship with the patient and see their progression.

  The role of the Registered Nurse is to perform patient care under the direction of the Nurse Manager/Director.
• 
  The Registered Nurse provides therapeutic and administrative services necessary for the care of the patient, and in support of the mission of Menorah Medical Center.
• 
  The Registered Nurse in this department provides care for adult patients between 18 to 64 years; and geriatric patients 65 years and older (and sometimes those younger than 18 if they are deemed appropriate for admission to the Rehab Unit.

Qualifications:

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with either an ADN or BSN degree.
• Must hold a current RN license from the Kansas Board of Nursing or an active compact license. American Heart Association BLS required upon hire.
• No previous experience required other than clinical rotations required as part of the degree completion. Prior experience in a similar size facility with similar services provided is preferred. Previous emergency, pre-hospital or critical care preferred.
