Boston Institute of Biotechnology, LLC is a contract research and development company, it provides bioprocess solutions to biotechnology and biopharmaceutical companies. Due to the business expansion, we are seeking a protein purification research associate/ associate scientist.

Job responsibility:

• Work with peers to develop robust, efficient, scalable strategies for recombinant/antibody protein process, perform trouble-shoot if needed.
• Execute purification work and maintain legible and detailed work documentation. Must be able to work independently and as a part of a team.
• Demonstrate ability to work effectively in teams, both within the group and cross-functionally
• Analyze data, form conclusions, and communicate results to scientists and team members
• Prepare batch record, internally reviewed technical reports, make oral presentations to scientists and management, and/or publish externally.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology or Chemistry related field with 0-15 years’ experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, or MS degree in Biochemistry or Chemical Engineering with 0-10 years’ experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, or PhD degree in Biochemistry or Chemical Engineering with 0-5 years’ experience in the biopharmaceutical industry.

• Strong hands on experience with AKTA purification systems (purifier, explorer) is required, ability for AKTA equipment trouble shooting is hightly preferred
• Experience with ion exchange, hydrophobic, mixed mode and affinity chromatography with AKTA purification systems
• Proficiency with protein assay, gel electrophoresis, HPLC, ELISA is preferred
• Excellent verbal and written skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience of downstream process development

• Prior industrial experiences in biopharmaceutical fields are highly desired.
• Knowledge and hands-on experience of HPLC, ELISA assay and qPCR assay is a plus
• Knowledge and hands-on experience of microbial fermentation and mammalian cell culture is a plus
