The company delivers the most technologically advanced Mobile Ad-Hoc Networking (MANET) solution to multiple markets including: Law Enforcement; Unmanned Systems; and Military, among others. Along with its successful MANET product line, the company also delivers on ground breaking research in the area of wireless data communications. The company has experienced rapid growth over the past 12 months and is expecting the rate of growth to continue with the introduction of new products and services.

Silvus is seeking a full time senior embedded software engineer to participate in the development of Silvus’ MANET radios and advanced research projects.

Responsibilities

• Implementation of software portion of MAC (Medium Access Control) and mobile ad-hoc networking routing protocols.
• Implementation of network management software and web interface.
• Implementation of different security protocols and encryption algorithms.
• Implementation of audio streaming and push to talk voice applications.
• Analyze and improve product security and robustness to meet certain regulatory requirement such as NIST FIPS 140-2 and NIAP Common Criteria.
• Application and user interface development for customer demonstrations and evaluations.
• Implementation of testing software and product performance and reliability testing.
• Linux system customization and scripting.

Qualifications

• BS Required, MS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science a definite plus.
• Expert in C programming. Other language such as C++, JavaScript, Python is a plus.
• Linux kernel driver development experiences required.
• Knowledge and experience of different security protocols and encryption algorithms a huge plus.
• 4+ years of relevant embedded system software development experiences required.
• Experiences with socket programming and various Internet/Ethernet protocols a plus.
• Experiences of software development under real-time operating system a plus.
• GUI and web interface development experiences a plus.
• Knowledge of MAC and Networking layer of a communication system a plus.
• Knowledge of digital signal processing a plus.
• Must be a U.S. person (U.S. Permanent Resident or U.S. Citizen) due to clients under U.S. government contracts.

Pay: $97,155.64 - $186,484.57 per year
