The United Mine Workers of America Health and Retirement Funds (the Funds) has an immediate opening for two Senior Software Developers. The Funds is a group of six multiemployer plans that provide health and pension benefits primarily to retired coal miners and their eligible dependents.
The incumbent will support and develop custom applications and provide analysis and consultation on new projects and change requests. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or a comparable degreed program plus four years of experience demonstrating proficiency in analyzing business requirements; designing and developing systems using object, data, and entity relationship models; using relational databases such as Microsoft’s SQL Server; analyzing and designing application systems; and working in a Windows operation system environment using software configuration management tools, (e.g., version control, migration tools). Credit hour equivalent of an Associate’s degree from an accredited college plus five years of related work experience. Certificate from a technical or vocational school that has specialized curriculum in computer programming plus six years of related work experience.
Advanced knowledge of intranet/Internet system design and development using relational databases such as Microsoft’s SQL Server. Must have a thorough understanding of software development life cycle. Extensive experience in developing GUI applications using programming languages such as Visual Basic, HTML, XML, ASP, and .NET architecture. Thorough understanding of Object Oriented Analysis, design, programming, and development of object models.
Positions with the UMWA Health and Retirement Funds require COVID-19 vaccination subject to applicable state and federal law.
