Job Description:

As Systems Analyst, you will work with Fidelity Institutional (FI) business and technology partners to support systems analysis function within a fast-paced Agile team. You’ll be contributing to tackle complex business problems for our clients and drive organizational goals to fruition.

The Role

• Analytical Problem-solving (breaking things down)
• Logical problem-solving (creating a “big picture”)
• Solution and system design (including artifact creation to facilitate solution design or business/systems process modeling)
• Provide systems analysis support on an Agile team that includes multiple business and technology partners. Collaborate with other Agile teams (Scrum of Scrums, Meta-Scrum) to manage dependencies and scope.
• Work with business and technology partners to define the scope of problems/issues, in terms of business and/or system requirements and processes.
• Work with Agile team to develop user stories, acceptance criteria, and story maps. Apply documentation standards and best practices.
• Participate in backlog refinement sessions. Translate sophisticated business needs into clear, actionable, requirements/user stories. Research and evaluate alternative solutions. Collaborate with Agile team members to create comprehensive and cohesive solution approaches.
• Evaluate design of existing systems to judge their functionality, effectiveness, reliability, performance, usage, maintainability and cost of ownership.
• Provide support in estimating, planning, scheduling, and prioritizing work.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree required. Technology-related subject area preferred.
• 2-5 years systems analysis experience.
• Experience with systems development methodologies and formal documentation processes.
• 2+ yrs Agile/Scrum experience
• Brokerage or Financial Services experience preferred
• Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills including negotiation and influence.
• Technical problem solver, who can work in a demanding, complex, fast-paced environment.
• Solid grasp of the financial services industry, attained through training and application experience.
• Can effectively manage issues, and drive to resolution in a timely manner.
• Proactive, thorough, standout colleague who understands how systems applications can provide solutions to business problems and objectives.
• Extensive experience with business/systems process modeling
• Extensive experience with solution/systems design
• Broad brokerage platform knowledge (Clearing & Custody)
• Proficient knowledge of API development protocol, including externalization, security models (such as SAML Bearer, PING Federation), and platform/infrastructure integration such as WSO2 and Apigee
• Proficient knowledge of SOAP and REST API development format
• Proficient knowledge of XML and YAML; knowledge of Swagger, Postman is preferred
• Proficient knowledge of JSON framework
• Solid understanding of SQL queries construction, working with DB2/Mainframe and/or Distributed/Oracle databases.
• Knowledge of JIRA, JIRA Align, Confluence, MS Office Suite of Products is a must.
• Experience using DBSpy/SQLDeveloper, Fiddler is preferred
• Experience with Informatica/ETL process is preferred

Fidelity Institutional provides products and services to banks, broker/dealers, registered investment advisors, family offices, and other financial intermediaries to meet their brokerage and banking needs. The FI technology platform is an integrated collection of products and services that are delivered to these external clients, primarily via web-based and mobile applications, application programming interfaces, transmission files, and collaborates with third-party applications. Some of these products and services are - and not limited to - trading, account servicing and maintenance, account opening and money movement, reporting, and data delivery and presentation. We are seeking a Systems Analyst, to join our systems analysis chapter, and support a well-established Agile team.
