The Systems Engineer is responsible for the delivery of high-quality IT technical professional services to our clientele.?The Systems Engineer will have the ability to monitor and manage the New Era Technology clients' environments and proactively and reactively, ensuring up time and resiliency. This will require direct customer support and interaction exhibiting outstanding customer service, as well as the ability to apply technical and troubleshooting skills towards the resolution of customer tickets. The Systems Engineer will be responsible for handling escalations, as well as taking part in the training and mentorship of less experienced technical resources within the Help Desk team.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

• Responsible for proactively and reactively managing, and troubleshooting customers' environments within a prescribed service level agreement (SLA)
• Utilize strong system and troubleshooting skills to manage and troubleshoot customer networks effectively
• Provide escalation support within New Era Technology service hierarchy
• Provide detailed documentation and knowledge transfer within the Help Desk as well as other support teams at New Era Technology
• Resolve network performance and connectivity issues
• Troubleshoot network and server service interruptions in timely and efficient fashion
• Remediate escalated operating system generated alerts
• Perform routine maintenance on monitored servers and network devices
• Maintain accurate records of customer information within internal systems
• Maintain detailed technical documentation that reflects changes as they are made to the IT environment
• Maintain accurate timekeeping in ticketing and payroll systems

• Ability to provide clear written communication for ticket/task updates
• Ability to maintain organization and control over all information related to customer projects and assignments
• Act as a team lead, taking ownership of assignments, offering advice and guidance to others on the team

• Strong broad-based knowledge of hardware, operating systems (client and server) applications / networking products, connectivity, and cabling
• Proficiency in all aspects of the core technical requirements

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

A minimum of 5 years of experience with the following is required:

• Solid understanding and working knowledge of servers, storage and networking environment
• In-depth experience with IP routing protocols and the ability to troubleshoot
• Fortinet firewalls, and switches. Experience with Fortimanager/Fortianalyzer desired.
• Cisco routers, switches and firewalls
• O365/Exchange online
• Windows Server Active directory including group policies and powershell
• Knowledge of server and desktop Virtualization, especially VMware
• Storage platforms to include Synology, MSA, and Nimble
• Aruba wireless and switching
• Cisco CCNA/CCNP or Microsoft MCSA/MCSE certification is required
• Knowledge and experience with monitoring systems such as LabTech is preferred
• Bachelor's Degree in technology or business from a two or four year college or university is preferred
• Enterprise class data center operations experience (procedures, management, reporting, etc.) is preferred
