SUMMARY: As an outside sales representative, you’ll be responsible for the overall sales and relationship management efforts for existing and prospective customers within the assigned territory. This includes pursuing new customers, deepening and strengthening existing customer relationship, and sales territory management. A high level of knowledge of produce is essential to success. The position will cover the Connecticut, New York and New Jersey areas. The position reports directly to the CEO and works closely with members of the buying team.
REQUIREMENTS:
· At least 3+ years of prior sales, business, or food service industry experience; sales of fresh fruits & vegetables a plus,
· High school diploma/GED required, Bachelor’s degree preferred,
· Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently,
· Must be able to analyze the operations structure in order to be able to get positive results, customer service driven,
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, decision-making and problem-solving skills,
· Self-motivated and persistent, roll up your sleeve attitude,
· Time management, multi-tasking and prioritizing tasks,
· Ability to build a workplace culture that is capable of executing change to meet business objectives,
· Ability to always be professional, work with integrity and actively promote ethics and compliance with company policies,
· Must have a current valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record,
· Your car is your office! Expect daily travel throughout your assigned territory,
· Background check required

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
· Forecast and execute sales budget via direct customer sales,
· Maintain customer and prospect lists, developing new market opportunities, sales growth focus,
· Remote customer sales order entry where needed,
· Responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of all sales related paperwork,
· Exceed customer relationships by cultivating a value-added customer relationship, resolve customer complaints by investigating problems, develop solutions and make recommendations to management
· Become well-versed in Tourtellot’s produce offerings,
· Secure credit information to open new accounts and update existing ones,
· Participate in weekly sales & buyer conference calls on product promotions, sales results, market conditions, competitive landscape and company updates
· Other duties as assigned
