Food Servers collaborate with Cooks, Chefs, Restaurant Managers and other foodservice staff to provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive reputation for the organization.

MUST HAVE AN OPEN AVAILABILITY/ WEEKENDS ARE MANDATORY

Food Server responsibilities include:

• Greeting and seating customers
• Taking food and beverage orders and accurately entering them into the ordering system
• Making menu item recommendations
• Communicating any food allergy or special nutrition needs to kitchen staff
• Ensuring all orders are filled quickly and accurately and that food is high quality
• Providing attentive service to diners, like refilling drinks as needed and checking their needs during meals
• Promptly addressing any customer service issues and referring to management if and when necessary
• Performing some cleaning duties, such as at the service station, around the kitchen and in the dining area

BARISTA STAFF will be responsible to performs cash transactions with customers. In addition, many cashiers perform other duties for Nightingale, such as preparing specialty tea/coffee, seating customers, and serving guests.

Responsibilities In addition to modeling Nightingale’s culture and values and following policies and procedures, principal responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Customer Experience: Engage with customers by welcoming them, providing warm, friendly and genuine service, understanding their needs and thanking them for their visit. Brew or prepare drip coffee and teas and food items according to Nightingale’s strict freshness and quality standards for customers. Maintain a ‘customer-first’ attitude while working with a strong sense of urgency. Actively work to increase customer traffic and sales through sampling, product suggestions and other initiatives as directed by leadership. Keep a professional overall presentation, by modeling friendly, respectful and business-appropriate communication with coworkers and customers and by maintaining a clean and well-groomed personal appearance.

Daily Operations: Maintain a meticulously clean and tidy coffee bar environment through regular cleaning, stocking and organizing. Follow all food and safety standards. Accurately follow all cash handling guidelines and protect Nightingale assets

Have the ability to work quickly, embrace and learn new information, multi-task and incorporate feedback into personal performance. Perform various physical tasks during a work shift. Possess the interest and ability to promote into the Barista position by passing all in house training. Last but not least, you must have reliable transportation.
