Back Office Solutions and E D Bessey & Son in Hinckley, ME is looking to hire a Bookkeeping and Accounting specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years professional experience with bookkeeping and accounting, must demonstrate a mastery of QuickBooks (desktop and online), a complete understanding of accounting best practices and a willingness to work as a team player in a small but busy office.

Back Office Solutions is a provider of outsourced bookkeeping for clients throughout the state of Maine. E D Bessey & Son is a forest products broker. Both businesses operate out of the same location and there is crossover between all companies with both incoming phone calls and customer traffic.

The Bookkeeping and Accounting specialist will report directly to our office manager, who is also our key person for Back Office Solutions. He or she must be able to demonstrate on day one: mastery of bank reconciliations, journal entries, efficient and accurate data entry, AR, AP, payroll, tax filings, etc.

Additionally, the ideal candidate will be willing to learn our Wood Pay system and assist with entry of wood slips and payments to vendors. As a team, when the phone rings, whoever is available answers it. And if a client or visitor enters the office whoever is available greets that person and make sure they are attended to. We take pride in meeting or exceeding deadlines, and in our prompt and professional communication with both clients and fellow team members.

Our office is in a renovated house on Rt 201 in Hinckley. This position would require working from our office 32 hours a week with the option for additional hours or some remote work in the future. We offer flexibility, and we cover for each other to account for the occational unexpected events, (sickness, weather, etc.). This is an hourly position.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
