Overview:
The Director, IT Operations is responsible for development and support of Sound’s technology systems, to include network, server, help desk, support, hardware and technology security. This position will provide essential leadership to identify and integrate business operations and IT operations to deliver solutions that meets the business needs. This individual will participate in technical research and development to enable continued service growth, performance and stability within the infrastructure. Manage and provide direct supervision to the team members.
Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provide direct supervision of the IT Department team members and consultants.
- Lead the management of the IT infrastructure, operations and cloud organization, service strategy, technical roadmap and ensures its integration with the overall business operations and Sounds strategic plans.
- Engage with Sound team members to build solid relationships and identify business requirements and processes, Help Desk SLA’s, security standards, supporting infrastructure and required technology.
- Design and implement change management policies and procedures, disaster recovery, and conduct tabletop exercises to assess effectiveness of the plans and procedures.
- Support Risk Based Testing to ensure that systems are hardened against cyber risks.
- Develop and manage an Asset Lifecycle Management program for all IT devices.
- Support senior management with business planning activities to identify operating budgets, staffing and technology needs to support the growth of the business.
- Promote a culture of compliance and governance with respect to network configuration and commissioning standards, documentation, reporting, and knowledge transfer.
- Stay current on latest trends in IT Infrastructure and Cloud technologies and promote a culture of innovation and technology awareness.
- Direct professional development and coaching programs for department team members.
- Perform team member reviews, new hire interviews and team member terminations.
- Provide for the ongoing evaluation of the overall IT network system, ensuring daily system and network monitoring is in place verifying the integrity of all systems.
- Develop and maintain an accurate inventory of all company IT equipment.
- Relate to others in a respectful, professional manner.
- Comply with all applicable federal, state and county laws and regulations, Sound policies and procedures and all safety regulations.

Qualifications:
EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent engineering degree
EXPERIENCE:
-
7+ years of experience working within an IT/OT Networking environment, with 5+ years within a management role

Experience building and managing multidiscipline support teams
-
Strong Program or Project management skills with experience managing large enterprise company-wide projects, refreshes, rollouts, and migrations

Experience working with diverse corporate functions and balancing IT and business requirements
-
Experience in vendor selection processes, service negotiations, and managing scopes of work with 3rd party service providers
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS::

Knowledge of applicable IT and Cyber Security frameworks and compliance including NIST, NERC CIP, ITIL, Lean

Strong understanding of cloud computing capabilities and limitations, business drivers, virtualization technologies, Infrastructure as a Service, Platform as a Service and Software as a Service Cloud delivery models

IT Cost budget management, reconciliation and reporting

Customer escalation and conflict resolution skills required

Resource planning and risk mitigation management

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Proficient use of Microsoft office tools including but not limited to Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint

In-depth knowledge of Windows servers including: AD, Azure, Exchange, RDS, and MS SQL.

Strong background in backup and restore systems; Veeam is a plus.

VMware, Cisco and Microsoft certifications are a plus.

Effective verbal and written communications skills.

Ability to work evenings and/or weekends as needed.

Self-motivation - ability to work with minimal supervision; independent, cooperative.

Strong knowledge of networking and security concepts as they apply to HIPAA.

To successfully perform the essential duties of this Job, an individual must have reliable transportation and be able to travel within King County, sit at a desk for six or more hours a day, and use office equipment, including phones and computer keyboards, for four or more hours per day.
