Cardiac Telemetry nurses are the master coordinators of the unit, juggling care for their patients while keeping the entire health care team on the same page. They have high-level critical thinking skills, vast clinical knowledge, and are able to stay calm under pressure.

About this unit:

• 18 private rooms.
• Ratios 1-4:-5 with Patient Care Tech Support.
• Common diagnosis/Procedure: Congestive Heart Failure, Tikosyn & Sotalol admissions, Pace maker placement, EP procedures, Cardiac Catherization without interventions.
• Dedicated team committed to maintaining excellence in care of the cardiac patient through continuing education and ongoing professional development.
• Designated a “50 Top Cardiovascular Hospital” by Fortune and IBM Watson Health.
• Work schedule: 2 days per week including weekend rotation.

Responsibilities:

  Under the general direction of the Director, coordinates and provides patient care and assumes individual responsibility and accountability for the provision of nursing care.

• Nursing care is provided in accordance with hospital policies and procedures, applicable state Nursing Practice Acts, ANA Standards of Practice, and the generic and unit structure standards.

• Adult patients between 18 to 64 years; and geriatric patients 65 years and older.

What Qualifications You Will Need

• Graduate of school of nursing required. BSN preferred.
• Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation.
• Ability to achieve and maintain BCLS certification required. ACLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
• No previous experience required other than clinical rotations required as part of the degree completion. Prior experience in a similar size facility with similar services provided is preferred.
