Basic Function

We are looking for an energetic, motivated and customer service oriented System Administrator OR Senior Systems Administrator. This role provides technical assistance and training to system users across multiple companies. Maintain, operate, and administer servers and applications, mainly in a Windows Server environment. Monitor the performance of servers, software, and hardware in those environments, as well as perform upgrades, application patches, and deployments. Maintain/create operational documentation and architecture diagrams on systems assigned to the role.

Essential Functions

• Responding to technical support tickets within a reasonable time frame
• Record, validate and sort technical support requests
• Diagnose and resolve system hardware, software and operation problems
• Install new or rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, settings, storage, networking, etc. according to project requirements.
• Maintain installation, configuration and operations procedures
• Contribute to and maintain system standards
• Perform daily system monitoring to maintain a high level of system availability and integrity
• Repair and recover from hardware and software failures
• Create, change and delete user accounts within active directory
• Participate in planning and execution of maintenance processes
• Participate in planning and execution of IT projects and initiatives
• Complete change / service requests
• Create and maintain proper documentation.
• Shows initiative and resourcefulness
• Ability to work under pressure
• Ability to prioritize and multitask
• Willing to learn new technologies

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Information Technology, Information Systems or Computer Science
• 3+ years of System administrator experience
• Helpdesk experience
• Experience in hardware, software and networking troubleshooting, or equivalent training
• This position requires handling confidential information in an appropriate manner. Customer interactions must be handled with diplomacy and tact. Individual must be able to gauge the customer's technical ability and communicate with them in appropriate technical or non-technical language in a non-condescending manner.
• Ability to: Plan, organize and document complex system design activities and to configure systems to be consistent; communicate technical/complex information both verbally and in writing; establish and maintain cooperation, understanding, trust and credibility; perform multiple tasks concurrently and respond to emergency situations effectively.
• Programmer experience and knowledge is a plus.
• Stays current with technological developments in systems administration technology and recommends options when appropriate
• Must be fluent with Windows networking, advanced desktop support, and have significant work experience in the following:
• Operating System Deployment and optimization
• Exchange Technology
• Firewall / Advanced networking experience
• Microsoft Windows 7, 8, 10
• Server 2012, 2016, 2019
• VMware
• Hyperflex
• Hyperconverge Technology
• SIEM knowledge
• Cloud technology
• Networking skills, including LAN, WAN, TCP/IP,etc
• Database experience

Working Conditions & Physical Demands

• 45+ Hour work-week, Monday-Friday however off hour support is occasionally required for production system related issues
• Office environment working with personal computer for potentially long periods of time
• Moderate lifting
• Weekend on call rotation required
• Drivers License and reliable transportation required
