PURPOSE
Under general direction and supervision of the Technology Solutions Manager, the Technology Solutions Project Manager performs a highly independent and critical role for the operations and administration departments. This role drives projects from concept through implementation and may be the single point of contact for high-profile and/or operational projects with IT and the general business. The PM formulates and defines scope and objectives of projects based on business needs and a good understanding of business systems.

The role of the Project Manager is to plan, execute, and finalize projects according to
strict deadlines and within budget. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating
the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver
projects according to plan. The Project Manager will also define the project’s objectives
and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle.

The Technology Solutions Project Manager partners with SWACO’s Administration, Innovations and Programs, and Operations teams to formulate and define technical scope and objectives of projects based on user needs and a good understanding of business systems and industry best practices. The successful candidate must analyze complex business problems and propose technical and business process solutions. The PM must be able to collaborate with business and technical staff to document business requirements and help with quality assurance through testing. The Project Manager position requires the incumbent to demonstrate excellent knowledge, skills and abilities in key areas, verbal and written communications, interpersonal skills and customer service orientation. The incumbent must have the ability to maintain confidentiality.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer and Information Sciences, Business Administration, or related field OR
  • Equivalent education and experience.
  • PMP certification strongly preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations;
  • Write reports and business correspondence;
  • Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and the general public;
  • Demonstrated ability to respond to common inquiries from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community;
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels internally and externally, both in writing and verbally. This includes the ability to present information in one-on-one and small group situations;
  • Calculate numbers, including discounts and percentages;
  • Gather data, compile information and prepare reports;
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that promotes good relationships with customers, clients, co-workers and management, and
  • Individual must have reasonable knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook at the advanced level, and the ability to type.
