Job Description :

AgriNorthwest is seeking a highly organized and detail-orientated Area Accounting Specialist to join our Plymouth Farm office team. The Specialist helps maintain good internal controls and protect company assets while ensuring a professional office environment and good relationships with operations managers, customers, vendors, and other visitors. The Area Accounting Specialist is the key liaison between farm units and centralized accounting functions.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and reconciles out-of-field crop load tickets that have been entered into the Harvest system against physical records.
  • Create and distribute daily harvest and monthly crop and cost reports.
  • Maintain crop information in our Field tracking software.
  • Maintain chemical, fertilizer, seed, irrigation, and fuel usage with the inventory issued out of the accounting system.
  • Perform period reconciliations of chemical and fertilizer accounting balances with physical counts.
  • Manage the accounting and reporting functions for dry fertilizer blends.
  • Provide support to managers in compiling and preparing annual fumigation management plans.
  • Order chemicals, fertilizers, fuel, office, and cleaning supplies based on manager requests.
  • Maintain irrigation information, prepare journal entries to distribute costs, and supply weekly irrigation reports.
  • Enter data into systems and generate seed planting summaries.
  • Coordinate with vendors on receiving discrepancies and resolve outstanding purchase orders.
  • Review labor hours for approvals and coding to support payroll processing.
  • Track and prepare payments and paperwork for truck drivers.
  • Provide timeclock training to managers and other users.
  • Supervise scale operators.
  • Enter general ledger journal entries into the accounting system to correct and distribute costs. Cross train on other accounting duties and serve as back-up.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. Continued education or professional certifications preferred.
  • 5+ years in accounting/bookkeeping/clerical work or equivalent combination of experience and education/training.
  • Current Notary Public or ability to become certified.
  • Proficient with 10-key operations and general computer skills, including Microsoft tools. Previous use of HRIS (Lawson) and/or Kronos desired.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills. Bilingual Spanish a plus.
  • Excellent attention to detail, time management, and outstanding organization skills.
  • Able to work after hours work on critical business systems, as needed.
  • Requires sitting for long periods of time and occasional lifting/moving of computer hardware devices, doors, desks, and other office furniture. Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Able to travel to various farm and office locations (domestic travel).

Starting pay is generally set between minimum and midpoint for new hires or developing employees. Individual pay is adjusted as performance is demonstrated and sustained at increasingly competent levels over time. With approval, experienced employees with critical skills may be hired above this guideline.

Pay: $23.90 - $35.90 per hour
