Assistant Controller Accountant

M-F/Full Time/On Site

Salary: 100-130k/yr

WHAT YOU'LL DO AS A ASSISTANT CONTROLLER ACCOUNTANT:

• Compile internal and external financial reports.

• Reconcile transactions to general ledger and perform monthly consolidating legal entities reconciliations.

• Reconcile transactions to general ledger and balance sheet accounts for the month end process created by the accounting team.

• Record and reconcile transactions related to the allowance for loan loss and other complex estimates.

• Manage and help with Accounts payable: Create vendors, enter invoices, reviewing billing details and process payments. Own and review transactions on the corporate credit card.

• Estimate and track accruals for month end close.

• Accounts receivable reconciliation: Ensure loan receivables, customer payments and other business receivables are properly accounted for applied reconciled.

• Interface with various teams on accounting issues

• Follow and identify necessary department policies and procedures

• Annual 1099 filings for vendors and customers

• Calculate variable compensation for payroll and assist with payroll accounting and processing

• Account and reconciliation of subsidiary entities

• Complete special projects as needed

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; prefer candidate to have a master’s degree in accounting or business administration and certified public accountant license (CPA)

• Strong understanding of basic principles of GAAP accounting, GL posting, finance, accounting for loans

• Proficient in Excel

• Some experience with Oracle

• Minimum of five years experience in accounting in the financial service industry

• Experience in public accounting is highly valued

• Some experience with Oracle

• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and high organizational skills

• Must be able to problem solve, drive solutions, and ask questions

• Attention to deadlines and time management skills are essential to this role
