Come join our growing, innovative team here at sfcu. This position is responsible for ensuring the policies and procedures of the Credit Union comply with the appropriate laws and regulations. This position will require you to analyze new and pending laws that could directly affect the Credit Union's current practices, develop and revise current policies and procedures to ensure compliance. Working to ensure overall employee effectiveness/performance through the application of individual and group training techniques and programs, consistent with the Credit Union's organizational priorities.
Location: This position has remote capability if remote work criteria is met. There is expectation for reporting to our home office at 42 Union Street, Sidney office as needed for scheduled on site meetings or training.
Salary range: $50,469-$75,704

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Analyze new and pending laws and regulations which will affect the Credit Union's operations, develop and periodically review and update the policies and procedures to ensure compliance with the applicable Federal and State laws and regulations, notify all affected parties of the changes and the new procedures adopted.
Develop, update and implement a compliance program, policies and procedure to effectively review nominated areas of the Credit Union for compliance.
Lead and support internal and external audits, risk assessments and business impact.
Support business units with day-to-day questions as they relate to compliance risk management.
Review credit union disclosures, forms, communications, notices, web pages, branch signage, products, and advertisements to ensure compliance.
Develop, manage and maintain a compliance library through its lifecycle.
Prepare and present periodic reports to the Board of Directors concerning the Credit Union's current record of compliance.
Prepare and facilitate Compliance Committee Meetings.
Ensure third parties are compliant with regulatory and corporate guidance. Manage third party lifecycle – review, onboard, due diligence, risk assessment and ensure contracts and service agreements are satisfied to term.
Completes required reports and documents; attends meetings as required.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience Three years to five years of similar or related experience.
Education A two-year college degree, or (2) completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or (3) completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or (4) job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program.
Familiar with: NCUA, NIST, PCI/DSS, NYS DFS
Understanding of both lending and deposit related consumer protection laws and regulations applicable to financial institutions
CRCM or CUCE or NCCO certifications desirable
Interpersonal Skills Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.
