Our Lamar Corporate office in Baton Rouge, Louisiana is now hiring a new Digital Marketing Design Specialist to help bring innovative advertising campaigns to life in Baton Rouge, LA and around the country. The Digital Marketing Design Specialist is responsible for projects related to lamar.com, social media, email marketing and general marketing design/branding initiatives.

Compensation & Benefits Overview:

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Email Marketing: Conceptualize and design email graphics that are engaging and “on message” to be used for corporate and local email marketing. Creative responsive email templates built with HTML and CSS that adhere to Lamar’s brand identity and follow the marketing calendar
  • Web Graphics & Content Management: Design graphics for local and corporate websites. Graphics will primarily be used for email marketing landing pages, promotional offers, industry-specific web pages and research pages. Also categorizes new content for the website, uploads new assets to the content management system, manages content uploaded into the digital asset management tool and builds landing pages as needed. Uploads and manages email marketing design assets on email marketing internal site, email marketing system and within CRM (Salesforce)
  • Website Design and Improvements: Create mockups for new features on Lamar.com that communicate proposed concepts effectively. Create mockups for internal marketing systems to introduce new ideas and user experiences.
  • Photography & Photo Editing: Establishes photo style guidelines. Hires and manages freelance photographers around the U.S. to capture the best creative for lamar.com, social media, email marketing, etc. while adhering to brand guidelines. Digitally enhances photos of Lamar inventory to be used on corporate/local websites, sales/marketing collateral, social media, press requests and award submissions.
  • Digital Marketing Strategy: Collaborate with VP of Marketing Services & Communications and team to plan and execute marketing campaigns to promote Lamar and our products/services throughout the year. This includes brainstorming, designing promotional assets (campaign creative, graphics for social media, PR, and email marketing, etc.) web design and redesign for new and existing marketing platforms, and implementing new strategies to improve brand visibility.
  • Social Media: Collaborate with VP of Marketing Services and Communications and AVP of Marketing Programs on social media strategy and design graphics (cover photos, seasonal, special offers, campaign announcements, animations, etc.) for Lamar’s social media channels to maximize engagement on social media platforms
  • Creative Concepts: Designs creative concepts for self-promo creative, tributes and other digital branding materials
  • Mockups for PR: Mockup creatives on inventory structures to be used for press requests, award submissions and social media posts
  • Presentations: Design marketing presentations utilizing PowerPoint and/or Google Slides
  • Miscellaneous Design Projects: Collaborate with the Creative Director and Marketing Team on promotional videos, design-related projects, photography (Lamar Store, corporate functions, etc.), Sales School collateral, presentation updates, etc. as needed

Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements

  • Must be creative, forward-thinking, with a solid understanding of design concepts, particularly layout and typography
  • Ability to work on multiple projects while adhering to creative direction, brand identity, and meeting tight deadlines
  • Web design skills, including knowledge of responsive web design
  • Knowledge of SEO and Google Analytics
  • Knowledge of HTML and CSS
  • Must have ability to code and design responsive marketing emails
  • Proficiency in Webflow preferred
  • Ability to design visually with the proficiency to distinguish color patterns and identify good use of color
  • Thorough knowledge of departmental processes and procedures, as well as company policies
  • Skill in working independently and following through on assignments with minimal direction
  • Must have strong communications and organizational skills, with the ability to balance projects, set deadlines, and manage expectations
  • Ability to brainstorm individually and collaboratively, mock up designs and present ideas
  • Must have an eye for details and be able to respond positively to constructive criticism
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Advanced photo editing skills preferred
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint, Google Slides, and other presentation software such as Keynote
  • Experience using email marketing platforms, such as Pardot, Emma, or others
  • Experience using a website CMS such as Sitecore preferred
  • Experience using various social media platforms and knowledgeable about current trends in social media
  • Experience using a CRM such as Salesforce preferred
  • Experience creative GIFs for banners, emails, and web graphics preferred
  • Working knowledge of Adobe After Effects for creative quick animations preferred
  • Photography experience using a DSLR preferred, especially experience with Nikon
  • Online portfolio required

Education and Experience Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • BA/BS Degree required; concentration in Marketing, Advertising, or Design preferred
    • Or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Stellar portfolio with a range of projects required
  • Experience in designing website and email marketing graphics required
  • 6-8 years of design experience required
    • Agency experience preferred

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • The primary work environment is an office.
  • The physical demands include light lifting, reaching, seeing (which includes reading, color distinction, and acuity), sitting more than 50% of the time, talking, and turning.
  • Nights spent away from home traveling are less than 10%.
