JOB FUNCTION
Manages the information technology department in accordance with organizational policies and goals. Ensures proper functioning of company's information processing system and makes upgrades as necessary. Helps business operations utilize information systems to improve efficiency. Provides software application support to all users. Keeps computer equipment, hardware, and software updated to meet organizational needs. This position is also the Good Shepherd HIPAA Security Officer who is responsible for the ongoing management of information security policies, procedures and technical systems in order to maintain the confidentially, integrity, and availably of all organization healthcare information systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Promotes Good Shepherds Customer Care Standards of Service, Compassion, Trust, and Respect each day; W.O.W. customers in the manner you are trained. Excellent Customer Care is an expectation and all staff are empowered to do everything in your power to make sure that everyone including residents, tenants, families, guests, and co-workers are treated with excellence.
  • Manages the information technology department in accordance with organizational policies and goals.
  • Ensure consistency and confidentiality within network and workstation protocols.
  • Assist network users with questions and problems.
  • Troubleshoot and correct software and hardware problems, on site, over the phone, via E-mail, or remote access.
  • Install computer hardware as required.
  • Provide Windows, Microsoft Office, and other software training, support, or resources to all users.
  • Troubleshoot and correct issues related to WAN/LAN.
  • Oversee hosted services such as VoIP, Email\Intranet, IaaS.
  • Ensure proper backup of data on a daily\weekly\monthly basis.
  • Provide recommendations for future technology needs.
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining computer connections to all existing and new Good Shepherd Lutheran Home entities.
  • Responsible for creating, training, and implementing computer policies and procedures for existing and new entities.
  • Responsible for keeping all computers updated with upgrades and patches.
  • Responsible for training, providing support, and installing hardware and software for all entities of Good Shepherd Community.
  • Manages and assists with customer technology systems such as WiFi, TV, Tabs Alarms, Tech Tone System, Wireless Radios, Nurse Call Systems, phones (desk, cell phones, and portable phones), copiers/fax machines, security cameras, door access systems, and other Company technology as needed.
  • Provide service, on a scheduled and fee based model, to residents who request technical assistance with personal technology needs.
  • Responsible for staff supervision.
  • Responsible for staff hiring, orientating, training, and education of department employees.
  • Evaluates and completes evaluations, disciplining, recognizing, and follow up on all staff performance in a timely fashion.
  • Delegates and coaches staff on an ongoing basis
  • Develops and accomplishes goals and objects for the department annually.
  • Demonstrates confidentially with the department and throughout Good Shepherd.
  • Responsible for developing and managing approved operational and capital budget for the department.
  • Plans for the ongoing and future capital needs of the department. Prepares Capital Expenditure Requests proposals with necessary analysis and documentation
  • Meet afterhours and on-call requirements.

HIPAA Security Officer Responsibilities

  • Responsible for implementing, managing, and enforcing information security directives as mandated by HIPAA.
  • Oversee Information Security Committee, facilitate quarterly and annual reviews.
  • Ensure the ongoing integration of information security with business strategies and requirements.
  • Ensure that the access control, disaster recovery, business continuity, incident response, and risk management needs of the organization are properly addressed.
  • Lead information security awareness and training initiatives to educated workforce about information risks.
  • Perform ongoing information risk assessments and audits to ensure that information systems are adequately protected and meet HIPAA certification requirements.
  • Work with vendors, outside consultants, and other third parties to improve information security within the organization.
  • Lead an incident response team to contain, investigate, and prevent future computer security breaches.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree preferred and at least 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or similar Certification preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of the HIPAA Security Rule and other government technology laws.
  • Good working knowledge of computer hardware. Strong working knowledge on correcting hardware and software problems on a personal computer network utilizing Windows, Office 365\Suites, SharePoint.
  • Experienced in the management of both physical and logical information security systems.
  • Strong technical skills with a focus on information security (application and operating system hardening, vulnerability assessments, security audits, TCP/IP, intrusion detection systems, firewalls, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of network protocols and cross platform interfacing including VLANs, Firewalls, etc.
  • Ability to weigh business risks and enforce appropriates information security measures.
  • Must demonstrate good judgment and good observation skills. Have a cooperative, caring, and positive disposition.
  • Must be able to prioritize and organize work efficiently to accomplish workload within scheduled time frames.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Must be adaptable and flexible to changing situations. Must be able to work with minimum supervision. Must be a self-motivated individual.
