POSITION DETAILS

JOB PURPOSE

Mixing and delivering feed for our 1200 cow herd. We feed with a tractor and pull type vertical mixer wagon. Part of the job responsibilities will involve interacting with nutritionist, herdsman, veterinarian, and other farm managers.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Concise and efficient mixing and delivering feed to the cows.

Maintaining feed pile faces

Removing plastic and tires from the feed pile

Observation of feed intakes, forage moistures, and other cow behavior

Remove spoiled feed

Ingredient ordering and scheduling deliveries

Maintain, repair, clean, service equipment related to feed preparation

Snow removal

Assist with prep for new feed piles and assist covering new feed piles

Any other jobs

Assist with other duties for the good of team members and the business

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

1 year of feed mixing experience or equipment operating experience
