Job Description :

Rennia Aviation is seeking an experienced Director of Finance to direct the company’s financial planning activities, including accounting functions and financial analysis. You will be responsible for the accounting, tax, and internal controls; and serve with other business leaders to drive accuracy and cost ownership. You will work closely with the CEO to support and drive the company's overall strategic financial direction and keep finances insightful and instrumental to our continued success. You will have both day-to-day and ongoing impact on company financial operations, helping to analyze, strategize and grow our financial position.

The Director of Finance will need to have a solid understanding of the business model and a process-oriented mindset for establishing and creating relevant and applicable finance and accounting policies. Ultimately, you’ll make sure we comply with accounting regulations, maximize profits, and mitigate risks. Previous experience within the aviation industry is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages a team and all aspects of accounting, billing, financial statements, general ledger, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, tax compliance, revenue recognition, and various special projects and analyses.
  • Keep an organized system of all accounts, statements, transactions, payments, and debts
  • Prepare or direct preparation of financial statements, business activity reports, financial position forecasts, annual budgets
  • Define, benchmark, and implement operational best practices
  • Ensure all payments are completed on time (including accounts payable and bank deposits)
  • Facilitates an effective and efficient close process and ensures all accounting transactions are recorded appropriately and accurately
  • Analyze costs and profits
  • Build risk assessment models to evaluate investments
  • Report on the financial status on a regular basis and create ad-hoc reports when needed
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date filing systems
  • Develop internal control policies, guidelines, and procedures for activities such as budget administration, cash and credit management, and accounting
  • Ensures compliance with all local, state, and federal government tax requirements, including reporting and filings; identify tax savings opportunities for the organization
  • Works with department heads to build proper budgets and forecasts
  • Owns the ERP system, including training and implementation by the organization as the company grows.
  • Develops and builds working relationships with internal and external business partners
  • Work with clients to understand their business and industry and provide ongoing advice, insights, and support
  • Consult and work successfully with clients to ensure seamless integrated service
  • Evaluates accounting pronouncements and assess the financial and reporting impact
  • Advise senior management on short and long-term financial metrics and trends.
  • Develops a working relationship with other departments to facilitate information sharing and gains an understanding of the financial reporting workflow processes and the interdependency between other departments
  • Able to work well with senior management, and manage and mentor accounting staff
  • Lead process improvement initiatives
  • Develop and implement process improvements
  • Executes other duties and responsibilities as requested by the executive team

Skills/Abilities:

  • Complete projects on time with minimal supervision, ability to work varied hours when necessary to meet deadlines
  • Excellent computer skills; experience with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost control principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Analytical ability to develop and implement improvements or recommendations
  • Able to work well with senior management as well as manage, mentor, and lead accounting staff
  • Hands-on experience with general ledger accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
  • Experience with cash management and risk assessment
  • Strong planning and strategic thinking
  • High-level leadership skills
  • Practices extreme ownership and transparency
  • Ability to work with tight deadlines

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 10+ years of experience in accounting, corporate finance, or FP&A
  • Experience with complex corporate accounting and tax matters required, including separate company books and consolidated company reporting.
  • Experience Using Intuit QuickBooks
  • Must pass Reference and Background check

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Accounting (MAcc), MBA, or equivalent post-graduate degree
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
  • Experience in the aviation industry

Starting Salary: $135,000. -, salary is negotiable and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
