Department: Fraud Department / Customer Support Department

Reports To: Chief Compliance Officer

SUMMARY

As part of the Fraud Team, this position provides a variety of duties to support the Bank’s Fraud functions in maintaining compliant and effective programs. This position also provides customer support for online banking.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - INCLUDES, BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO:

Fraud Analyst

Administer EFT disputes from all branches submitted through processing system, which includes, but is not limited to: review and file claims according to federal and company regulations, monitor/track cases, issue credits and refunds using GL, daily fraud reporting.

Understands debit card functions and working knowledge of Regulation E.

Review daily alerts generated by the bank’s transaction monitoring systems with ability to identify, analyze and make decisions on account behavior for potential fraudulent activities.

Assist in recommendations to BSA Officer and other staff of customer transactions identified as fraudulent activity such as account take over, theft and other similar risks.

Ability to measure the risk involved and make sound decisions based on the situation.

Must be able to work under high pressure situations and stressful atmosphere and remain composed.

Must have strong organizational and planning skills with ability to acclimate to change.

Able to communicate with people at all levels and various backgrounds, including other banks and customers to validate information.

Maintain a high level of confidentiality with respect to information, findings, or recommendations related to fraud investigation activities or legal actions taken.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) preferred; High School diploma required; 1 -3 years related bank experience preferred or appropriate combination of education and like industry experience. Proficient knowledge of relevant state, federal and other governmental agency laws and regulations for financial institutions. Knowledge of banking services, policies and procedures.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and conduct research, interpret and understand laws and regulations and provide workable recommendations and solutions to problems. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customer, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedures that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.

REASONING ABILITY

Critical thinking competency is imperative to this position. Must have strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to adjust to change. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Able to effectively manage time, with deadlines and sudden projects that require immediate attention.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

None required; however, if not already achieved, the incumbent will be placed on a learning path toward industry certifications in Fraud.

Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour
