Overview:The Home Loan Development Manager provides inspiring leadership on a daily basis to a team of committed Home Loan Specialists, whose mission is to leverage empathy to meet members where they are at by building relationships and partnering with members on their home ownership journeys throughout their lives. The Home Loan Development Manager also provides education and passionate coaching to all Member Experience team members as they become proficient in assisting members to build prosperity through home ownership.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads communication efforts with credit union partners in mortgage lending. Serves as the relationship manager for CUHMS, CU Realty, local brokers/realtors, escrow vendors, and all other third parties related to Harborstone home loan activities.
  • Works closely with Training and Development and Member Experience leaders to ensure all member-facing team members have the deep knowledge and skill to deliver on Harborstone's WHY of creating thriving communities, helping members realize their full potential through trusted relationships.
  • Develop and lead the execution ofHarborstone Credit Union's internal and external home loan sales plans and programs.
  • Lead and coordinate the execution of origination processes for Harborstone Credit Union's home loan program to drive production, ensure quality and compliance, and enhance member experience.
  • Recruit, manage, develop, and retain a team of home loan member advocates and coaches who originate loans, manage pipeline and develop referral sources that reflects Harborstone Credit Union standards and core values.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and training to develop and encourage employee engagement with home ownership across all areas and locations of the Member Experience team.
  • Ensure all necessary reports are prepared, maintained and monitored on a regular basis, and inform leadership of any reports and statistical information to support the success of the home loan program.
  • Develop and maintain internal and external partnerships to increase home loan referrals, meet member experience objectives and grow cross-sell opportunities to meet the financial goals of members.
  • Leverage relationships with internal and external business partner entities to deepen member relationships along with leading service quality to ensure ongoing member loyalty.
  • Lead effective implementation of all elements of people and talent management programs and processes.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience managing a mortgage pipeline and partnering with various partners to ensure best level Member Experience.
  • Solid strategic perspective with proven success delivering high performing service and growth results in home lending.
  • Demonstrated relationship management skills in successfully executing member acquisition strategies; ability to transfer skill to lead, support and teach team members.
  • Proven success recruiting, inspiring, developing, coaching, and motivating team members through balanced leadership with a focus on team member engagement and retention within a team of member advocate professionals.
  • Ensure collaboration with all business partners to engage holistically and ensure team based approach for providing needs-based home loan solutions to members.
  • Proactive time management to ensure high production and successful results are achieved.
  • Effectively tracks activities, results, and outcomes and shares successes and pivot opportunities with leadership.
  • Thorough understanding and knowledge of mortgage related products, both internal offerings and external competition.
  • Advocates for members and the financial cooperative daily.
  • Has business and financial acumen required to make appropriate decisions and recommendations that balance the needs of the member with the needs of the membership.
  • Passionate about Financial Empowerment.
  • Seeks opportunity for meeting member needs with other credit union products and services as appropriate.
  • Keeps up to date on mortgage market conditions both locally and nationally to best support the financial success of members.
  • Supports team members by sharing knowledge and contributing to achievement of Harborstone's Member Experience Expectations.
  • Builds trust by proactively working to do the right things with accuracy.
  • Knowledge of basic technology, bookkeeping principles, and personal finance practices.

Required Experience/Education:*

This position requires National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) registration under the terms of SAFE Act of 2008 and Reg Z.

  • Expert level knowledge of Harborstone's CUSO partnerships and processes.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or related field, preferred.
  • Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the applicant with the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the job.
