Job Details:
Summary: The primary goal of an IT manager of Insights applications is to lead a group of IT team members in delivering technology solutions that align to key organizational objectives. IT managers are responsible for leading a team in the completion of projects and or support activities. This role will plan coordinate direct and design project related team activities and or provide administrative direction and support for daily operational activities of an IT group. In addition, the position interfaces directly with leadership in the Tyson business to identify recommend develop plan implement and support cost-effective technology solutions in their respective areas of responsibility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Mentoring Leadership: Provide Feedback to direct reports to raise awareness to strengths and opportunities. Communicate and clarify roles and responsibilities expectation for each member of the team. Ensure team members understand their career paths and partner with them to identify opportunities to grow and achieve career goals.
Team Management: Ensure team members are fully allocated to priority efforts that align to organizational goals. Establish implement and monitor policies and procedures to ensure efficient effective operation. Implement activities to ensure team performance is meeting or exceeding stated KPIs from IT leadership. Interview Fill open positions within the team with quality individuals and hold them accountable for their responsibilities. Manage operational budget from planning to fiscal year end close. Administer annual performance reviews based on consistent candid feedback. Manage indirect resources assigned to project tasks including consulting resources. Designing and or providing input into the training plans for team members.
Application Ownership and Solution Delivery: Ensure effective management of all aspects planning implementation support budget change management etc of business applications in related area. Develop and Execute any IT general controls processes aligned to application ownership
Business Engagement: Understand organizational strategy and priorities to ensure alignment of IT projects in related area. Lead cross functional meetings to drive alignment across various areas in business units.
Requirements: Education: Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems MIS, Computer Science or related field. Experience: 6 plus years of experience or advanced degree with 4 plus years progressive experience in a supervisory role. Computer Skills: Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Windows and Office tools Experience with project management tools such as Microsoft Project JIRA etc. Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills Negotiation and conflict resolution skills. Experience communicating technical information to non-technical team members. Effectively provide constructive feedback to team members

Experience with oversight and project leadership for other developers. Preferably onshore and offshore teams

Proficiency with BigData and Data warehousing practices, specifically BigQuery or Snowflake.

Experience with open source workflow management platforms, specifically Airflow

Experience operating in a cloud native environment

Experience utilizing DevOps practices

Knowledge of, or experience with, industry reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker, etc..

Knowledge of, or experience with, OLAP tools and where they play a role in a suite of analytical offerings. Ex: Analysis Services, AtScale, etc...

Experience with business intelligence and data analysis

Experience having worked in ambiguous environments where you have helped bring clarity and predictability through the use of processes standards and governance.

Process: Experience with and advocacy for agile methodologies including continuous integration, automated tested and continuous deployment and how these practices can/should be pursued within the context of an analytics solution

Process: Understanding of and previous experience with data modeling and how different modeling disciplines lend themselves to analytical solutions.

Process: Understanding of and previous experience with data transformation tools/frameworks. ETL vs ELT, Streaming vs Batch, etc...

Knowledge of, and experience with, different types of relational database platforms including techniques to make them perform and scale for analytical solutions
