Marketing Manager

Function of Position

The Marketing Manager is responsible to the Sales Manager and Corporate Officers for the “start to finish” flow of specific product inventory through all Company facilities. The purchase of products, systems of distribution and the promotional activities will be communicated and coordinated with Store Managers on a regular basis as needed. This will ensure the proper levels of inventory, on-going events, sales promotions, advertising and sell-through within the Company.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of store budgets for corporate approval.
  • Form a close alliance with wholesalers and external contacts for more promotional planning designed to drive sales and profits in specific categories.
  • Pre-order traditional product, with each retail outlet’s Store Manager whenever possible before placing actual total order with the vendor or manufacturer. Follow up and communicate any long or short inventories at the retail outlets to re-distribute for best turns on inventory for the total Company.
  • Ensure correct billing, pricing and inter-company transfers in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate advertising programs for all retail outlets as applicable.
  • Maintain accurate records.
  • Develop the marketing, product, supply and, if necessary, the in-store service strategies for specific categories or products. This will also include designing and implementing specific merchandising, events, seasonal promotions or plan-o-grams for retail outlets.
  • Establish store visits on a timely basis to ensure proper pricing and advertising programs are being implemented. Assist with implementation of programs if needed.
  • Consistently Deliver Excellent Customer Service:
  • Maintain the highest level of Customer Service and be a friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful associate not only to our customers and vendors but also being supportive and helpful to each other as Lynn’s, Inc. Team.
  • If a customer asks where something is please take them to the product. Greet customers as you approach them in the store, smile friendly and greet them and don’t forget to Thank them for Shopping at Lynn’s.
  • Remember a customer is not an interruption of our work but they are the purpose of our work.
  • Comply with all policies as stated in the Administrative Manual.
  • Maintain professional and business relationships through effective communications and dealing with vendors, store management, corporate personnel and other employees and customers as appropriate.
  • Perform additional duties as required by his/her supervisor as appropriate and actively participate in the function he/she supervises.
  • Comply with applicable safety and security policies as set by the Company, local, state and federal government.
  • Maintain and keep confidential all Company information.
  • Support the Operations Manager in various aspects and roles as directed by the Sales Manager.
  • One key role to assist the Operations Manager is in the area of Pricing Responsibilities
  • Key to work under the direction and guidance of the Sales Manager and the Operations Manager on Pricing and Gross Profit Targets based on Mix of Gross Profit by Department and by Category.
